🥬 WHY SHOULD BRAMHALL GET ALL THE GOOD STUFF? 🥬
Apparently, if you want a decent greengrocer these days, you’re supposed to get in the car, drive somewhere “nicer”, pay for parking and pretend it’s perfectly normal to travel three miles for a cabbage.
Nah.
We happen to think Edgeley deserves nice things too.
For years, people have told us Castle Street needs more fresh food, more independent businesses and fewer reasons to leave the area to spend their money elsewhere. So instead of endlessly debating it on Facebook, we’ve started filling the shop with fresh fruit and veg.
It’s hardly revolutionary. We’re basically bringing back something your nan had in walking distance in 1978.
The truth is, Castle Street still has everything it needs to become the high street local people actually want. We’ve got independent businesses, good transport links, a strong community and plenty of people who care about the area.
What we need now is for people to use it.
Every pound spent locally helps keep independent businesses alive, fills empty units, creates jobs and proves that Edgeley is worth investing in.
So if you’ve ever complained that Castle Street needs a greengrocer, bakery, butcher, deli, café, bookshop, market, community hub, cocktail bar, artisan sourdough specialist or a shop that exclusively sells tartan paint…
Now’s the time to start supporting the businesses that are trying.
Shop local. Support local. Build local.
