Pure Innovations

Pure Innovations Pure Innovations is a charity supporting people to live more independent, fulfilled lives.
(1)

We work alongside individuals to build confidence, develop skills and create opportunities through support, employment and community services. Pure became an independent charity following a TUPE transfer from Stockport Council in 2005. We are a values led, creative organisation and our objectives are to promote independence, increase choice and provide appropriate support to people to enable them

to make the most of their capacity and potential. In 1987 Employment Services was a part of Stockport Borough Council, providing employment opportunities and day care for people with a Learning Disability. We began a journey to modernise traditional day care across Stockport, moving away from larger institutions into smaller, community based settings. This move came from a strong belief in the philosophy that if we can support people to hold valued roles within communities then people with a disability would feel valued, and be recognised by others to have value. In 2005 we left the Local Authority and set up the charity Pure Innovations, continuing our vision to support a diverse range of people to live independent, healthy and valued lives in their communities. Today, we continue with our aim of supporting people to have a fulfilled life, with a sense of purpose and belonging. This can mean different things to different people and so Pure Innovations strives to provide a wide and varied offer, ranging from employment, volunteering and independent life skills to pursuing a variety of hobbies and interests. Our values have not changed over the years and have become a part of our DNA. We will be aspirational and believe in people’s ability to achieve amazing things even when they don’t believe it themselves.

Happy Volunteers' Week!💜

This week, we're celebrating the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy, and kindness to support everyone at Pure.

As a small token of our appreciation, our talented Creative Hub team created personalised cards for each volunteer, alongside a few extra treats.

But the real impact of our volunteers is best expressed by the people they support:
"Our Debs is funny, she helps me and is my friend."
"I love Mike. He plays basketball with me all the time, and I just love him."
"Jane has just started, but fitted in with the team instantly and is so lovely."

These words perfectly capture the difference our volunteers make every day. Thank you to all of our dedicated and wonderful volunteers. We appreciate everything you do!

Both Our Futures cohorts had a brilliant tour around the hotel and rooms at Holiday Inn Express Manchester Cc - Oxford Road 👏

It was great to find out about all the roles they have at the hotel and to ask lots of questions regarding jobs.

Thank you to Helen and Jade for a informative look at hospitality!

Throwback to Neurodiversity Week when we had a brilliant day partnering with The Alexandra Hospital to celebrate neurodiversity through music, creativity and conversation 👏

Our Handmade Harmonies choir delivered a fantastic performance, while Jenny, Josh and Jade invited staff and patients to help grow our Neurodiversity Tree 🌳

The finished tree is now proudly displayed at the hospital as a reminder of the importance of inclusion, understanding and celebrating different ways of thinking.

Thank you so much to everyone involved 💙

A huge well done to our latest Our Futures learners, who recently took part in mock interviews at Lancashire Cricket Club, Emirates Old Trafford 👏

What an incredible venue to practise interview skills, build confidence and prepare for future employment opportunities.

Everyone gave it 100%, stepped outside of their comfort zones and came away feeling more confident about interviews and what comes next.

Well done everyone! 💙

One of the things we hear most often through AutismWISE is how important connection and belonging can be. Having spaces where people feel comfortable, welcomed and understood really does make a difference.

AutismWISE brings together support, community and opportunities for autistic adults across Manchester, helping people build confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging without judgement.

What if lowering expectations in education isn’t inclusion… but a barrier to independence?

Our Head of College, Kaylie Crompton, has written a thought-provoking piece exploring why high expectations matter for young people with SEND, and how support should empower learners to achieve meaningful, real-world outcomes, not just protect them from challenge.

Using examples from Pure College, including a simple baking project that became a lesson in confidence, the article looks at how challenge, the right support and belief in learners’ abilities can lead to genuine growth 💙👏
