🏥 An Important Update from Bramhall & Shaw Heath Medical Group

Help us reduce missed appointments.

Last month, 145 appointments were marked as DNA (Did Not Attend), meaning patients did not attend and did not contact us to cancel or rearrange.

Why this matters to all of us:

High DNA rates directly contribute to longer waiting times for routine appointments.

Missed appointments place unnecessary strain on our doctors, nurses, and administrative staff.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can offer it to another patient.

You can also cancel or rearrange your appointment online or via the NHS App.

👁️💙 World Sight Day 💙👁️

Today is World Sight Day, a global day highlighting the importance of eye health and good vision. It takes place each year on the second Thursday of October – and this year falls on 8th October.

Our eyesight plays an important part in everyday life, so it’s important to look after your eyes and have your vision checked regularly.

👓 Keep up with your regular eye tests
🩺 Look after conditions such as diabetes that can affect your eyes
💻 Give your eyes regular breaks when using screens
👁️ Don’t ignore changes in your vision

If you notice sudden or significant changes to your eyesight, seek medical advice promptly.

This World Sight Day, let’s remember to Love Your Eyes! 💙👁️

We’ll be joined by a Welfare Rights, Debt Advice and Crisis Support service, offering help and information with:

🤝 Support if you’re experiencing financial difficulties
🆘 Help during times of crisis

🧼 National Hygiene Week 💙

This week is National Hygiene Week, helping to raise awareness of the importance of good hygiene and the impact that hygiene poverty can have on people and families.

🧼 Everyday essentials such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant and period products are things we can easily take for granted, but not everyone can afford them.

Good hygiene is an important part of looking after our physical health, mental wellbeing and dignity. 💙

This week, let’s help raise awareness, show understanding and remember that everyone deserves access to the essential hygiene products they need.
