The final day has come. The doors are closed. Thank you to everyone who came to get tattoos at Kewpie Tattoo Studio over our ten years of being open. Thank you with all our hearts. Continue forward in memory of Jori, laugh loudly, live well, and be kind to one another.

With the closure of Kewpie Tattoo Studio, Rylan and Teddy will be moving on to work at Kustom Creations, on the 3rd floor at 82 Portland Street (above Salon 2001), in the centre of Manchester. All bookings and ongoing work will continue as planned, but in an exciting new venue. It will take a couple of weeks to get set up, but please continue to email [email protected] or [email protected] to get booked in.

Unfortunately we must announce that Kewpie Tattoo Studio will be closing its doors at the end of this month. With the tragic loss of Jori, who set up the studio ten years ago, and put her heart and soul into the place, it felt that it would not be right to continue without her. We will be continuing to monitor the studio email account and social media for a couple of months. Myself and Teddy will be moving on together to a new studio in Manchester, so not moving too far away. We will post details of the new studio tomorrow. Ongoing work will continue as planned, simply in a new location.
Thank you to everyone for all the kind words, for coming to our open day, and for getting tattoos at Kewpie Tattoo Studio over the last decade!

Information about Saturday's open day:
A reminder for everyone that we are having an open day this coming Saturday 11am-3pm for clients and friends of Jori to come along and sign a book of condolences. Jori had a great many treasures and trinkets at the studio, and we, having spoken to the family, would like to let you know that you are welcome to take a memento from the studio home with you. (Naturally there are some things which cannot be taken, or that have already been claimed by the family.)

If you can't make it along and would like some words included in the book, please do message us, and we will include them of your behalf.

Following the sad news of Jori's passing, Rylan and Teddy would like to invite all of Jori's clients and friends to Kewpie Tattoo Studio for an 'open day' on Saturday 17th February. We will be open from 11am-3pm. There will be a book of condolences for you all to write your messages to the family, to record your favourite Jori stories, or to draw in - whatever you feel comfortable doing. If you are unable to make it, feel free to drop us a message with some words, and we will include them in the book on your behalf.

Jori put her heart and soul into Kewpie Tattoo Studio, and there is so much of her built into the very bones of the place, it will be like she's still with us.

Good morning everyone. It is with a heavy heart that we must share the news that Jori Lakars has passed away. There are no adequate words to describe what we're feeling at her passing. She was a force of nature, a wonderful colleague and simply the best friend a person could ever ask for. She was loyal, passionate, bombastic, hilarious, and tender. Her dog Fred has gone to stay with friends. He is, and will continue to be well cared for by people who love him.

The studio will be closed for a few days while we grieve our loss, and regroup. Her family have asked for privacy at this time, as they coordinate between the US and the UK.

We believe we have reached out to everyone who had bookings with Jori, but if we have missed anyone we are very sorry.

Sending love and hugs to you all, her friends, her clients, her family.
