Weir Hypnotherapy

Weir Hypnotherapy I’m an anxiety specialist, but I don’t just help people cope with it.

I work at the level anxiety actually comes from — so it stops running in the background of your life.

Anxiety doesn’t start in the mind.
It starts in the body.

Your system reacts first —
and then your mind tries to explain it.

That’s why talking alone
doesn’t always shift it.

Because the body is still responding
as if something isn’t safe.

When you work with the system itself…
everything begins to change.

This is where real, lasting change happens.

Save this if this changes how you see anxiety.

That constant feeling of being “on edge”…
isn’t random.

It’s your system staying ready.
Always scanning.
Always preparing.

Even when there’s nothing obvious going on.

That’s exhausting.

And over time, it can start to feel like
this is just how you are.

But it’s not.

It’s a pattern your system has learned —
and it can be unlearned.

Save this if you’re tired of feeling this way.

You don’t need to stop your thoughts.

You need to change your relationship to them.

Thoughts aren’t the problem.
Believing them is.

When your system feels under threat,
your mind produces more thoughts
to try and protect you.

The goal isn’t to silence them —
it’s to stop reacting to them as if they’re true.

That’s where things begin to shift.

Save this if your mind feels constantly busy.

So it scans…
analyses…
tries to figure things out.

Not because something is wrong with you —
but because your system is on alert.

When your body starts to feel safe again,
the thoughts naturally begin to quiet down

When anxiety rises, don’t fight it.

You’re not trying to get rid of anxiety.
You’re showing your system it’s safe.

That’s what actually starts to change it.

A man was struck by an arrow.
That was painful.

But then came the second arrow ….the thoughts, the fear, the “what ifs”.

The first arrow is part of life.
The second is how we respond to it.

In anxiety, it’s often not the feeling itself
that keeps it going…

It’s the fear of the feeling.

When that changes everything starts to shift.

Save this …you’ll come back to it.

The more you fight anxiety,
the more your nervous system learns:

“This feeling must be dangerous.”

So it stays alert.
Watching. Scanning. Reacting.

Not because you’re weak —
because your brain is trying to protect you.

The problem is, anxiety often grows through resistance.

The constant checking.
Overthinking.
Trying to stop the feeling.
Trying to get certainty.
Trying to “make it go away.”

All of those things can accidentally keep the fear cycle alive.

Because every time you respond as if anxiety is a threat, your system learns to keep sounding the alarm.

Healing usually begins when the goal changes from:

“I need to control this feeling”

to:

“I can feel this safely without fearing it.”

That’s when the nervous system slowly starts to settle.

That’s not you being dramatic.

It’s your system staying prepared…
even when nothing obvious is wrong. It’s trying protect you… but sometimes it goes overboard!
