Fitness classes are great for boosting confidence and creating changes you can see in the mirror. But the results go deeper than that. Five years ago I was diagnosed with osteopenia, but last month I had a bone density check and the results almost brought me to tears...
Thanks to changes in my diet as well as specific impact exercises, I now no longer have osteopenia, and my bone density is better than that of most women my age, despite the onset of perimenopause!

Huge well done to all my Embrace Fitness girls that smashed the Windsor Womens 10k today 👏🏼
Our ages ranged from 17-69, some were 10k veterans and some had never run that far in their lives, but every single one of us finished with a smile and a cheer. The power of training and team spirit is immeasurable.
So proud of these girls. Roll on next year (when we will get a picture of everyone together!) 🏃‍♀️ 🙌🏼 🤩

Hi everyone. I’m Emily, a Personal Trainer based in Stoke Poges, and this is me with my kids crossing the finish line at my first triathlon four years ago (they're the cute ones, I'm the sweaty mess). At the time it felt an impossible challenge, but I took it on to raise money for Thames Hospice after losing my stepdad to cancer.

If you've not met me, I'd love to introduce myself. I’m committed to empowering women of all ages feel healthy and strong, to ditch fad diets, and to make small changes for big, long-term rewards. When it comes to health and fitness everyone is unique, so if you’re keen to kickstart your fitness journey, drop me a line.

Why me?
When I turned 40 I had never run more than a mile. I was unfit. I know how it feels to be unable to keep up with your kids, to wear baggy clothes to hide the bits you don’t like, and to regret that extra glass of wine or piece of cake. I know there is no magic wand, but I also know that hard work, commitment, and a positive attitude are all the tools you need to turn things around when you have a true desire to change. This April I completed the London Marathon in a fairly decent (I think!) time. And I loved every minute of it. The Emily of five years ago would never have dreamed such an achievement was possible. But thanks to a local Personal Trainer I feel fitter and healthier than ever before in my life, and I want to do the same for you.

I don’t believe in crash diets, juice fasts or protein shakes, I believe in a sensible and fun approach to food, and tailoring exercise to your strengths and preferences.

Here are five things I believe in, and if you do too, I’ve got a feeling we’ll click.
1. Exercise should be fun and effective.
2. Strength training is for everyone. As women age our muscle mass deteriorates, but this can be built back to enable us to thrive through childbirth, menopause, and beyond.
3. Getting stronger doesn’t mean hours lifting weights in the gym, with just one session a week and commitment to a few small changes, you can feel significantly stronger in just six weeks.
4. Living a healthy life is a choice. So is living an unhealthy one. Choose wisely.
5. Food is there to be enjoyed. Nothing should be off-limits, but I can help you make simple swaps to shed the pounds and reduce your risk of long term illness.

If all that sounds good to you, here’s a little about me:
· I’m a mum-of-two and was Chair of Stoke Poges School PTA for three years, I love our village and all it has to offer
· Over the past 20 years I have been writing for a living
· Last year I qualified as a Personal Trainer, fitness leader, and aqua and spin instructor
· I am a big fan of wine, cheese, and dancing to music from the 60s to the 90s
