Just a polite reminder....

There is no Tea & Toast this morning 🧡

🚫 Tea & Toast Cancelled – Wednesday 24th June 🚫

Unfortunately, due to the extreme temperatures forecast and the current health advice around hot weather, we have made the decision to cancel Tea & Toast at St Francis Church tomorrow (Weds 24th June)

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. However, the safety and wellbeing of everyone who attends is always our priority. With temperatures expected to remain very high, we do not want anyone putting themselves at risk of heat exhaustion, heatstroke, or becoming unwell while travelling to and from the session.

Many schools, workplaces, and organisations have already adjusted their activities during this period of extreme weather, and we feel it would be irresponsible to create an unnecessary health risk by encouraging people to travel or gather during the hottest part of the day.

We appreciate your understanding and would rather miss one session than risk someone becoming poorly.

🌡️ Staying Safe in the Heat

✔️ Drink plenty of water throughout the day
✔️ Stay in the shade where possible
✔️ Keep your home cool by closing curtains or blinds during peak sunshine
✔️ Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest hours (11am–3pm)
✔️ Wear loose, light-coloured clothing
✔️ Check in on older relatives, neighbours, and vulnerable friends
✔️ Never leave children or pets in vehicles

Please take care of yourselves and each other, and use this as a reminder to slow down, stay hydrated, and keep cool.

We look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Superb event by Cannock Chase District volunteer Awards celebration event. Met some very interesting organisations including U3A and amongst many others.

Big shout out and congratulations to Lee Quinn, Desiree Elliott & Leah Lockley for all their time and efforts it never goes unnoticed 🧡 unfortunately they weren't able to make it due to work however everyone all still gave a huge round of applause of appreciation to each of them.

This is also another opportunity to grow and appreciate what organisations have to offer and to showcase how can help!

I met a fellow lass from Yorkshire too, the lovely Angela, an advocate for the Crisis Resilience Funding.

Today was great as it links nicely to our Wilderness Walk happening on Friday 26th June https://walktalkaction.co.uk/midsummer-meander/ with Walk Leader Lee Quinn these events can help us share opportunities and signpost relevant services to those whom may need it.

Networking is so much fun!

Outside just as I was leaving the venue, was a girl in a trailer selling coffees (Ellie's Coffee) even tho it was red hot I got one and she's just started up, her and her Dad, so it would be great if you could share her page or viosit if you are in the area! They are based just behind Lea Hall.

It will always amaze me seeing people push the boundaries and take the leap of faith to go after their dream and to me this was one of those moments. A lovely girl with big dreams, It could become the next SpudMan! Who knows!

A HUGE thank you to Walk Talk Action for inviting Man Time to be part of their Veterans Drop In event on Thursday.

It was fantastic to see so many veterans, organisations, volunteers and members of the public coming together to connect, share experiences and support one another. Events like this show the real value of conversation, community and collaboration.

We’re proud to have been involved and to stand alongside so many amazing organisations working to improve wellbeing across our communities.

Thank you to Teri and the Walk Talk Action team for organising such a positive and impactful day. We look forward to supporting future events.

Today's 1/3 Nature Therapy Workshops at the Walk Talk Action Retreat with Mandi Boyer at Chase Nature Connection 🧡

A mixture of alsorts:

⭐️ Baked cinnamon apples
⭐️ Toasted marshmallows over a fire
⭐️ A wander in nature (loved this)
⭐️ Clay...
⭐️ Self portraits...
⭐️ The fire was so calming (first time in a long time I've stopped, it was great seeing everyone get fully involved)

An adapted session to suit everyone! It was thoroughly enjoyable - thank you!

"It's been a wonderful experience, I would definitely do this again"

"I have felt so relaxed and learnt a lot today"

"I'm excited to do the Cinnamon apples at home this weekend at our BBQ"

Some great feedback ✨️

We also had some volunteers up helping with some grass cutting, litter picking and strimming! The strip on the road has made such a massive difference!

We are in need of some helpers to paint the cabins! We have the stuff just need a volunteer or five! A great project for any organisation or company that wants to try something new but ultimately would make a huge difference to our retreat!
