Please remember to contact the surgery at least 6 weeks before you travel if you need advice about NHS travel vaccinations.

This allows enough time for our team to check which vaccines you may need and to arrange an appointment where appropriate.
Some travel vaccinations are available on the NHS, but others may need to be arranged privately through a travel clinic or pharmacy.

🌙💙 A huge well done to our amazing team who completed the Dougie Mac 10 Mile Walk on Friday!

Together, we have raised an incredible £2,187 for Dougie Mac Hospice, and we couldn’t have achieved this without the generosity and support of our patients, friends, family and local community.

Thank you to everyone who donated, cheered us on and helped us reach this fantastic total. Every pound raised will help Dougie Mac continue providing outstanding care and support to local people and their loved ones.

☀️ A Gentle Reminder During the Warm Weather ☀️

It appears summer has arrived for its annual three-day visit.

With temperatures remaining high, please remember to:

💧 Keep hydrated.
🕶️ Stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day where possible.
👵 Check on older relatives, neighbours, and anyone who may be vulnerable to the heat.
🚶 Consider whether journeys and activities are really necessary before venturing out into what feels like the surface of the sun.
🐕 Spare a thought for pets, who unfortunately don’t have the option of complaining about the weather on Facebook.

Many routine queries and administrative requests can be managed online via our website or the NHS App, allowing you to remain within easy reach of a fan, cold drink, or paddling pool.

Stay safe, stay cool, and try not to melt!

💜 Cervical Screening Awareness Week 💜

Cervical screening (sometimes called a smear test) is one of the best ways to help prevent cervical cancer.

The appointment is usually quick, and screening can identify changes in cervical cells before they become cancerous. If you’re invited for cervical screening, it’s important to attend, even if you feel completely well.

✅ Helps prevent cervical cancer
✅ Checks for high-risk HPV
✅ Can detect cell changes early
✅ Usually takes just a few minutes

We’re pleased to be taking part in an NHS-supported initiative to help make menopause information and support more accessible.

Eligible Brook Medical Centre patients can now access Your Menopause by Harley Street at Home completely free of charge.

This online platform has been developed by menopause specialists and offers:
✅ Trusted, evidence-based information
✅ On-demand videos
✅ Live sessions
✅ Self-help resources
✅ Lifelong access

It may be particularly helpful for patients aged 40–60 who are experiencing perimenopause or menopause symptoms and would like additional support and guidance.
