My friend Sarah Gaisford has had her car stolen and inside it was her specialist wheelchair tennis chair, mobility walking frame and tennis equipment.

Sarah was paralysed after a race riding accident in 2007. Since then she has rebuilt her life through wheelchair tennis and gone on to become one of Britain’s top wheelchair tennis players, reaching the British top 10 and competing internationally.

This equipment is not replaceable in any normal sense at all. It represents her independence, sport, freedom and daily life, and she is absolutely devastated.

Please check CCTV, dashcams, lanes, lay-bys and car parks around South Devon as the specialist wheelchair or mobility equipment may have been dumped.

If anyone knows anything at all, please contact Devon & Cornwall Police immediately.

Please please share across the racing world, tennis clubs, disability sport groups and Devon communities.

Works very well with individuals who are affected by incomplete sci injuries and who can walk short distances. Also might be useful for individuals affected by stroke injury with ambulatory potential

At least some robotics will be available to assist some individuals with limited gait abilities. And as it’s not focused on the paralysed population the costs are considerably less. Hip assisted robotics too are becoming very accessible
