Caroline Jaine - The Resilience Guide

Caroline Jaine - The Resilience Guide Founder of The Jaine Resilience Academy. Author. Former Diplomat.

I am the founder of The Jaine Resilience Academy - an accessible online platform for self-directed programs of resilience and self development. Accessibility, particularly for those working in the public sector and under pressure, is important to me and many useful resources are shared at no charge. My work is grounded in root causes practice, evidence and science backed research, and years of exp

erience working in high pressure environments. A former police staff leader, in 2024 I was given a Police Impact Award for Supportive Leadership & Wellbeing by Gloucestershire Constabulary. I am also a retired diplomat, having served 14 years in the UK Foreign Service and I have authored two books relating to my time spent abroad: A Better Basra - about my time in Iraq; and Looking for Tigers - a collection of stories and reflections from some of the many countries I have lived and served in. I am not particularly interested in “just cope”
I've spent quite a lot of my life being extremely good at coping. Diplomatic postings. Conflict zones. Policing. Motherhood. Life. 😂 But eventually I realised that being able to cope isn't necessarily the same as being OK. That's a big part of why I developed my resilience programmes. Explore The Unbreakable Path:

A question for the helpers

If your work involves listening to other people's problems, holding their emotions, managing crises or helping them through change, you probably know how to create a safe space for others. But have you created one for yourself? That's exactly why I created The Sanctum Program. Find out if Sanctum is for you:

For life’s givers who are committed to self knowledge and improvement The Sanctum Program ✔️ The Sanctum Program – A rooted resilience and self-development program for anyone who regularly ho…

I didn't write A Book of Days for perfect mornings ☀️

You know the ones. Candle lit. Yoga completed. Green smoothie consumed. Nobody has shouted yet. 😂 I wrote A Book of Days for real life - 365 little reflections you can dip into when you have five minutes, or five seconds, to pause and think. Take a look at the book here:

This book is designed to fit into real life. Each day offers a short, clear reflection - a gentle nudge to pause, reset, and move forward with greater steadiness. Evidence shows that reading a little and often, you’ll begin to notice small shifts that make a meaningful difference: calmer thinking,...

Calling all our friends who have lived experience of forced displacement or work or volunteer with refugees - do you have a story to tell?

Founded in Bristol in 2002, Trauma Foundation South West was the first agency in the South West to provide specialist trauma therapy for refugees.

Over 25 years, they've listened to many stories: of waiting for a decision as time stretches ahead, of surviving and of thriving, of difficult days and the deep reward of connection.

Now they are inviting you to add your voice. A new Short Story Collection (edited by me!) brings that tapestry of voices together, marking 25 years of listening and raising funds for support to continue into the future.
