Do I Need a Rollator – And Am I Using It Correctly?
Do you find yourself holding onto furniture when walking around the house? Or perhaps when you're out, you look for a wall, railing or someone's arm for a little extra confidence?
It might be worth considering a rollator.
A rollator isn't about giving up your independence — it's about helping you keep it!
But there is a right way to use one.
When walking, try to stay close to the rollator and walk between the rear wheels, rather than pushing it out in front of you and then trying to catch up with it.
The handles also need to be at the right height so you can walk comfortably and upright without having to stoop.
And if your rollator has a seat, always put the brakes on before sitting down.
At Active Mobility, we believe everyone deserves freedom, independence and the confidence to get out and enjoy life.
If you're wondering whether a rollator might help you, come and try one. We'll explain the different options in easy-to-understand language and help you decide what suits your everyday life.
Life is for living — sometimes a little support can give you a lot more freedom!
Do you already use a rollator? Has it given you more confidence when you're out and about? Let us know in the comments. And please like and share — it might help somebody else who is struggling with their walking.
