Helena Jones Permanent Makeup

Helena Jones Permanent Makeup Microblade, Permanent Makeup, Cosmetic & Medical Tattooist. Passionate about what I do! Client satisfaction is the benchmark of our success.

Permanent Makeup Artist, Microblade & Micropigmentation Technician, operating throughout Warwickshire. Helena Jones Permanent Makeup is dedicated to providing beautiful, long-lasting makeup that saves precious time on applying daily cosmetics and enhances your natural features. Permanent cosmetics is a beauty treatment that follows a process similar to tattooing. Also known as permanent makeup, mi

croblading or micro-pigmentation, it involves carefully depositing pigments into the upper layers of the skin to add colour, shape and definition to eyebrows, lash lines and lips. It gives a natural effect that can last for many months – in some cases, years. The exact duration will depend on factors such as skin type, sun exposure and lifestyle. Refresher treatments every 12–18 months are often required to maintain perfect results. The simple process can help boost your confidence through subtly enhancing your features, and is a convenient and lasting solution for both women and men. It can combat the effects of scarring, conditions such as alopecia and, in the case of eyebrows, over-plucking. All treatments take place in a relaxed salon environment, carried out by professionals trained by the internationally renowned KB Pro and Nouveau Contour.

‼ Melanoma can affect all skin types...

There is a general misconception that people with darker skin tones are immune to skin cancer - this combined with the fact that the early signs and symptoms are often more difficult to detect, unfortunately results in greater morbidity and mortality.

In the case of Bob Marley, his melanoma was mistaken for trauma / bruising of the nail bed, caused by playing football!

Whilst skin cancer is less common in people with darker skin tones, when melanoma does occur, the most common places a tumour may develop include areas of lighter skin, such as:

• Under the nails (subungual melanoma - as highlighted in this post)
• Mucous membranes, such as inside the mouth
• The palms of the hands, the soles of the feet and the lower legs (acral melanoma)
• The anogenital region (the area around the groin and a**s)

It is imperative that ALL skin types check their skin regularly (once a month) for the early signs of skin cancer and seek immediate advice from a qualified healthcare practitioner with any new, unusual or changing moles or skin lesions.

Around 70% of melanoma follow the ABCDE warning signs - but be warned...

Whilst the ABCDE rule is a great detection tool - the vast majority of melanoma actually arise as a new mole!

This means they can be very small (often dark / almost black in appearance) and can be as small as a pen tip!) Therefore the ABCDE warning signs may be difficult to detect with the naked eye.

🔑 KEY INFORMATION:

The appearance of a new mole in adulthood is worthy of your special attention and potentially cause for concern.

Get to know your skin. Check it monthly - from top to toe and seek immediate medical advice with anything NEW, UNUSUAL or CHANGING!

Last night at 7.10pm, we said goodbye to our beautiful Sadie. She fell ill yesterday, and we discovered she had multiple tumours all over her little body. They wouldn’t operate, and she went to sleep with us by her side. She has given us nearly eleven years of pure joy and love. It all happened so very quickly and we are all utterly heartbroken. I know so many of you loved seeing Sadie when you came to the house, so I wanted to let you know. She is now playing happily with all the doggies in heaven. x

☀ SUNBURN AND MELANOMA‼

☀ Sunburn is an inflammatory reaction to over-exposure to UV radiation. It happens when the amount of Ultraviolet radiation (UVR) exceeds what our skin can naturally block by our level of melanin - the pigment that determines the colour of our skin and darkens unprotected sun-exposed skin as a form of protection. The paler your skin, the less melanin you have which is why some people are more prone to burning than others.

☀ Sunburn and its severity isn’t always noticeable while it’s happening, which is why many people get caught out. This is because the skin turns red within 2-6 hours of damage occurring and continues to develop for the next 24 to 72 hours. During this time, the noticeable signs and symptoms develop as the superficial layers of the skin release chemicals that cause our blood vessels to expand and leak fluid causing swelling, pain and redness. Without sun protection, UV radiation penetrates deep into the layers of the skin causing cumulative damage to the skin cells.

‼ Skin cancer can develop when unrepaired damage to the skin cells cause them to grow out-of-control and form malignant tumours.

‼ 5 or more sunburns DOUBLES your risk of melanoma skin cancer ‼

👍 ALWAYS USE SUN PROTECTION MEASURES!

💛 PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE!
