All over the world people needlessly suffer from many kinds of pain. In Scotland alone the official statistics show that over 900,000 people suffer from chronic pain - 12 million in Britain. These figures mirror the situation in the rest of the world. Yet, despite a number of government reports and recommendations published throughout a period of many years, very little has been done that has directly and positively affected people with chronic pain. People in pain need action NOW. Some people are able to pay for alternative, effective drug-free interventions of their choice but others cannot.
