Meet Dr Shibin Chang () — quietly focused, humble, and part of a new generation of UK clinicians pushing clinical standards forward.
What does it take to go from struggling on your first composite course to winning prestigious clinical awards and launching a fully booked masterclass series?
After qualifying in 2022 from Dundee, Shibin set out to master composite artistry. Initially focusing on anterior composites in late 2024 before expanding his system to posteriors in 2025, he took a unique approach: if raw talent wouldn’t get him there, pure, relentless repetition would.
From struggling to keep up on his early courses to winning the Bracelet from Dr. Sche after his first go using the Extaro microscope, Shibin’s home studio setup saw over 1,000 practice restorations. Through this, he mastered precision optics, high-shine finishing protocols, and a predictable chairside workflow for both anterior and posterior cases.
In his own words: "After a course made me want to give up on composites, I practiced on models at home until I couldn't get it wrong. The name stuck — it’s a reminder that consistency beats talent every time."
