Annie Reid is 75 years old and just finished a HYROX World Championship race in Stockholm in 2:22:06.
She placed 12th in the women's 70-74 age category, competing against 17 of the best athletes on the planet in 33-degree heat.
She only started training at a gym in Lavenham, Suffolk, a few years ago. Now she's targeting the 75-79 category next. And after that? She wants to be the first woman to compete solo at HYROX Worlds at age 80.
Her coach said she approached every station "cool, calm and collected." One station at a time. No panic. Just ex*****on.
The T-shirts her family wore said "Powerful Pensioner." She loved it.
What's the oldest age you've seen someone competing at a high level in endurance sport, and did it change how you think about your own timeline?
