💊Tonight was my leaving do 😢

💊After working from my Pre-registration year in 2008 at Whitfields Chemist in Murton to qualifying as a Pharmacist in 2009 to locuming around all of the branches for three years to managing Edward Chaston Ltd, Silksworth Terrace- it’s been a brilliant experience.

I want to thank the owners and directors of Edward Chaston Ltd for giving me the opportunity to work for them, and for all of the trust, guidance, care and support they have given me over this time particularly in the last 7 years, I will be forever grateful. Thank you for sharing your experience, knowledge, and friendship with me, it has been a pleasure. I wish you all the very best and I will keep in touch 💖

I will always look back fondly on my time in Silksworth and have loved the thriving community that surrounds the Community Pharmacy. Thank you to all of my patients and customers who have shown such depths of kindness to myself and my Pharmacy Team over the years, it has been a privilege to be your Pharmacist and to be a part of your healthcare journey. Whether I helped with a prescription, offered advice, or simply shared a friendly conversation, I am grateful for the trust and kindness you have shown me over the years.

I have met so many wonderful people, and the relationships I have built here are something I will always cherish. Your support, patience, and smiles have made this job far more rewarding than I could have imagined.

I will genuinely miss seeing familiar faces and being part of this community each day.

Thank you for allowing me to be your Pharmacist. I wish you and your families good health, happiness, and all the very best for the future. ☘️

We are very proud of Antoni and Savio our Saturday Pharmacy Students who have completed their MPharm degree programme at the University of Sunderland. They have BOTH achieved First Class honours! They have been working at Chastons for 3 years and now they are both about to leave to embark on their respective pre-registration Pharmacy positions. Antoni came an impressive 40th in his Oriel exam out of 3800 candidates. Antoni’s pre-registration is at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and Savio is doing a dual placement split between Community Pharmacy, Whickham Pharmacy, and Academia at the University of Sunderland.

We want to say a huge congratulations to The FTD Brothers, Jordan and Cian, for completing their incredible challenge to run 33 marathons in 33 days.

From Jordan running the London Marathon with a fridge on his back to them then completing a marathon in all 32 counties of Ireland, it has been an extraordinary achievement.

You’ve pushed yourself to the limit, rallied the whole of Ireland behind you, and done so much to raise awareness of dementia.

You’ve not just reached your original goal of raising £1 million for dementia research in your lifetimes, you’ve absolutely smashed it!

And the money raised from this challenge for The FTD Brothers Foundation and Alzheimer Society of Ireland will do so much to help people affected by dementia.

We are so honoured to have Jordan and Cian as Ambassadors for Alzheimer’s Research UK and are proud to have been a part of their incredible journey.

Jordan and then Cian came on board with us not long after learning they had inherited the gene for frontotemporal dementia that their mum died from, meaning they will also go on to develop the condition in their 40s.

They’ve turned that devastating situation into something so positive and it has been wonderful to see them grow into extraordinary dementia advocates.

You both definitely deserve a well-earned rest. But we can’t wait to see what you do next!

We are so proud of you. The whole of Ireland is proud of you. And we know your mum would be so proud of you.
