πŸ’œ It's Cervical Screening Awareness Week

Cervical screening saves thousands of lives every year, yet many women still delay or miss their appointments due to embarrassment, anxiety, busy schedules, or uncertainty about what the test involves.

The reality is that cervical screening is one of the most effective ways to prevent cervical cancer by identifying changes before they become a problem.

This awareness week, we're encouraging women to learn more about why screening matters and to make attending their appointment a priority.

😴 Struggling to get a good night's sleep?

Sleep affects every area of our health and wellbeing, yet some of the factors disrupting it aren't always obvious.

Here are 5 things that could be affecting your sleep:

πŸ“± Screen time before bed
β˜• Caffeine later in the day
🌑 A bedroom that's too warm
😟 Stress and a busy mind
🍷 Alcohol in the evening

Poor sleep can impact mood, concentration, energy levels, immunity and overall health.

If you're experiencing ongoing sleep problems, it's worth looking beyond your bedtime routine. Understanding the cause is often the first step towards better rest.

πŸ’š Sleep isn't a luxury - it's an essential part of staying healthy.

🀧 Hay fever… or summer cold?

When the weather warms up, it can be difficult to tell what's causing your symptoms.

🌿 Hay fever is more likely if you have:
βœ” Itchy eyes, nose or throat
βœ” Sneezing fits
βœ” A runny nose with clear mucus
βœ” Symptoms that worsen outdoors or around pollen

πŸ€’ A summer cold is more likely if you have:
βœ” A sore throat
βœ” Body aches
βœ” A cough
βœ” Thicker mucus
βœ” Symptoms that improve within a week or two

The two can feel surprisingly similar, and sometimes allergies can leave you feeling just as tired and run down as a cold.

If you're unsure what's causing your symptoms, or over-the-counter treatments aren't helping, our GP team is here to help identify the cause and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

🌿 Enjoy the summer feeling your best.
