Another fantastic Chemical First Aid at Work course delivered

A huge thank you to the team at Midland Lead for investing in the knowledge and safety of their workforce. Companies that proactively train their employees in chemical first aid demonstrate a genuine commitment to protecting their people and creating a safer workplace. 👏

The feedback from delegates was outstanding, with attendees highlighting the course as:

⭐ Engaging, well-presented and informative
⭐ Interactive and knowledgeable
⭐ Helpful in understanding how to treat chemical burns correctly
⭐ Valuable for learning how to respond to chemical incidents involving themselves or colleagues
⭐ Beneficial for understanding the different injuries caused by acids and alkalis

Even better, every delegate confirmed they had learned more about Chemical First Aid and would recommend the course to others who work with chemicals.

Thank you to everyone at Midland Lead for your enthusiasm and participation throughout the day.

A great couple of days up in Birmingham delivering our Emergency Response to Chemical & Cyanide Incidents, CPR, Oxygen & Airway Management course to Rolls-Royce staff.

The groups brought a brilliant level of engagement, asked great questions, and got properly stuck into the practical elements.

The feedback honestly speaks for itself:
✅ Consistently scoring 10/10 for knowledge and delivery
✅ 100% said they learnt more about chemical first aid
✅ 100% said others working with chemicals should do this training

What stood out most for me was how much people valued understanding the“why” behind what we do, not just the steps – from cyanide exposure and oxygen therapy to managing chemical burns and airway support.

A lot of comments highlighted:

Real-world experience and case examples
Practical skills like oxygen delivery and BVM use
Breaking down complex science into something usable on the shop floor

One of my favourite bits of feedback:

“Great industry experience and knowledge transfer… engaging and delivered to a high standard.”

Massive thanks to everyone who attended – and to Rolls-Royce plc for investing in training that genuinely goes beyond standard first aid and focuses on the risks people actually face in their workplace.

⭐ “Instructor is very knowledgeable and has real life experience.”

⭐ “Very useful knowledge to have – especially first aid for HF burns.”

✅ 100% of attendees said they learned more
✅ 100% would recommend the course to others working with chemicals
✅ Multiple 10/10 ratings for both delivery and overall satisfaction

Participants particularly valued:

We’ve recently delivered another series of excellent Chemical First Aid training courses, commissioned by MII Engineering for their teams and for colleagues working for Tata Group

MII Engineering’s leadership and commitment to safety is particularly noteworthy. Investing in high-quality, practical training like this demonstrates a clear dedication to protecting their workforce and ensuring teams are prepared to respond effectively to chemical incidents.

The session focused on the recognition and immediate management of chemical injuries within heavy industrial environments, using realistic scenarios relevant to engineering, manufacturing, and processing settings.

100% of attendees rated the course 9 or 10/10 for teaching quality, instructor knowledge, and overall satisfaction.
100% reported increased confidence in recognising and managing chemical injuries.
100% said they would recommend the course to colleagues working with hazardous substances.

Feedback highlighted the value of:

• Clear, structured and easy-to-follow treatment approaches
• Real-world scenarios directly relevant to their working environment
• Practical, hands-on guidance that can be applied immediately
• Increased awareness of chemical risks and early intervention priorities

Some of the feedback included:

“10 out of 10 for everything. The best part of the course was… all of it. More people should do this course!”
Colin Bryan Rees – Senior Supervisor – MII Engineering

“10 out of 10 for everything. Excellent course.”
Martin Bennett – Engineering Coordinator – MII Engineering

“10 out of 10 for everything. The most useful part of the course was the full course & first aid responses. Nothing needs to be improved.”

“10 out of 10 for everything. More people need to go on this course.”

“Everything explained well and clearly with good examples. Nothing needs to be improved.”

“10 out of 10 for everything. This course should be given to others who use chemicals. Nothing needs to be improved.”

A big thank you to Richard Passmore at MII Engineering for leading this initiative, and to all attendees for their engagement and professionalism throughout. It’s encouraging to see such a strong commitment to safety, preparedness, and workforce wellbeing across the sector.
