Absolutely 🩵
This needs to be said....
Don’t worry about your GCSE results ❤️
Your results do not define who you are, and they certainly do not define what your future holds.
I didn’t get the best GCSE results. In fact if you had told me back then that one day I would have two degrees, become a Senior Social Worker, and run my own wellbeing farm supporting people, I probably wouldn’t have believed you and laughed 😂
And that’s the point...
At 16, you simply cannot know where life is going to take you.
Some people are academic. They thrive in exams, love studying and find the education system works really well for them — and that’s brilliant. I applaud you... 👏
But some of us aren't academic. Some of us learn differently. Some of us shine in practical things, creativity, kindness, caring for others, animals, building things, business, sport, communication or simply understanding people.... 💪🫶
The education system can measure certain things but it cannot measure your worth or intelligence...!!
We need to remember something when we look at a young person's results:
Not all of us come from safe homes.
Not all of us have parental support.
Not all of us have someone sitting beside us helping with homework.
Not all of us have health.
Take that into account before you judge 🤔
Some young people are dealing with parents going through divorce.
Some have parents who are unwell
Some don't have safe parents at all.
Some are carrying things that nobody else knows about.
So before we judge a grade on a piece of paper, let's remember that we have absolutely no idea what that child may have been carrying just to get to that finish line.
Of course, work hard. Try your best. Take opportunities. Learn as much as you can... But please don't believe that one set of results decides the rest of your life. It bloody doesn’t!
What matters to me far more is who you are as a person.
Your manners.
Your kindness.
Your compassion.
Your ability to get back up when life knocks you down.
Your willingness to help someone else.
Your heart.
Be someone who turns up in this world and tries to be a good person. That's what success is ❤️
Qualifications can open doors — but character is what you carry through every door you WALK through.
I have met some AMAZING PEOPLE through my life and let me tell you they aren't ones with amazing grades - they are amazing because of the difference they make in this world 🌏
So - please don't compare your journey to someone else's. At 16, your story is just beginning.
You can become so many things.
You can change your mind.
You can start again
Who knows what the future holds? Life is your ADVENTURE 🌏❤️
So whether you got the grades you dreamed of today, or whether you're sitting there feeling disappointed, please remember this:
You are so much more than a set of letters on a results SHEET!! Keep going ❤️
Your future hasn't been written yet.
And I, for one am very grateful that mine wasn't decided by my GCSE results 🐴❤️
