Today we are famous again!
A sunrise and sunset silent disco yoga session is coming to Pontardawe for the summer solstice ๐ฟ
For 12 years Helen Wilson has been running what she believes is Europe's largest yoga class on Swansea Bay - and this weekend she's trying something completely new.
๐ง Womankind Yoga is hosting a Silent Disco Summer Solstice Yoga session at Pontardawe Riverside Park this Sunday, June 21st - with a choice of a sunrise session at 5am or a sunset session at 9pm. The event is being co-organised with Claire Nicholls-de Freitas of Ty Casa Yoga.
๐ถ Participants wear wireless headphones and are guided through a grounding, Hatha-inspired yoga flow set to music, led live by instructors Helen and Claire.
โ After the session there's a chance to relax and connect over chai, cacao and energy balls.
๐ฌ Helen Wilson, founder of Womankind Yoga, said: "I saw some pictures of a massive event in Cornwall doing silent disco kit so the instructions could be delivered through headphones with music in the background, and I just thought it was an amazing idea. I love being the first to do things, bringing fresh ideas to Swansea."
๐ Helen also runs the popular Beach Yoga Swansea Bay sessions on Swansea Beach near The Observatory - donation-based community classes that have regularly drawn well over 100 people on a good evening.
๐ Next week's Beach Yoga Swansea Bay session will be raising money for Swansea Women's Aid. Helen said: "I've had women come from women's shelters before to beach yoga because they felt it was like a safe space to get outside and learn how to relax and move their body. Fundraising for Women's Aid really represents what beach yoga is all about - it's offering a place, support and sanctuary for people."
