Hot off the press.
A Swansea bushcraft expert is about to represent Wales on one of the world’s toughest survival shows 🌲
🌊 Andrew Price, 51, grew up foraging for seaweed, mussels and blackberries on the shores of the Gower Peninsula with his grandfather - and kayak fishing for bass and mackerel around the Gower coast with his father.
🌲 Now he’s taking those lifelong wilderness skills to the ultimate test - competing on Alone: World Championship, the 13th season of the History Channel’s acclaimed survival series, premiering Wednesday 17th June on History Channel in the US.
🌍 For the first time the series goes global, with ten survivalists from seven countries including Wales, the USA, Canada, Australia, Slovenia, Portugal and New Zealand competing alone in Canada’s Arctic Circle. The last person standing takes home $500,000 and the title of first-ever Alone World Champion.
🐻 Competitors are dropped with just ten survival tools and must battle Arctic winter conditions, grizzly bears, wolves and moose - with no camera crews, no support and no contact with the outside world.
🎬 Andrew is the founder of Dryad Bushcraft CIC and co-hosted the BAFTA-nominated ITV Wales series Coast and Country for seven years. He described appearing on Alone as “the realisation of a lifelong dream” and says he feels “extremely proud to represent Wales.”
💬 He confirmed the news on his Dryad Bushcraft page with the words “I CAN FINALLY SAY IT!!!”
📺 Alone: World Championship premieres Wednesday 17th June on the History Channel in the US. A UK premiere date has not yet been confirmed.
