Hey there! If you're new here, my name is Mollie, I am 24yo from Swansea Wales π΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ.
I am a junior tattoo artist, and my story is not like many others you'll see day-to-day.
At 17, I started my first tattoo apprenticeship. I grafted, I worked so hard on top of college and a job, and then also my apprenticeship, but I always dreamt of becoming a tattoo artist one day. I spent 8 years studying art to reach my goals.
Things went south after becoming disabled. I suffer from several health conditions, most notably a nerve condition triggered by stage 4 Endometriosis. This left me reliant on a wheelchair, and being thrown between years in and out of hospital, appointments and barely surviving, let alone living.
This huge dynamic shift in my life made me realise one thing - accessibility in the tattoo industry is near to none. Working in a conventional studio isn't possible for me due to the complexity of my health. My wonderful partner Cameron deserves a notable mention, for being my biggest supporter, and also my carer, he's been with me through every single battle, and consistently pushes me to push myself.
As I've learnt more about myself and my capabilities, I've learnt that I am capable, but my journey wouldn't be the conventional idea of what most people think of in the tattoo industry. From this, Unbound Ink was born. It is still very much a work in progress, and I will never be the *best* artist, as I have a lot of limitations, but I am trying my best to create a space to focus on inclusivity and accessibility, where tattoos can be for everyone, no matter who they are and what their limitations are, or what body they possess. I've worked extra hard to learn how to tattoo all skin types, complexions, shapes and sizes, because every body is beautiful in its own way, and it deserves to be treated equally.
Unbound Ink, removing the boundaries, and putting you at the forefront of your experience.
I really appreciate you taking your time to read my post, if you've made it this far, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I may not be a big page with many followers, but I can promise that everything is done with love
