On my day off yesterday I went to the doctors… I know- I lead a very exciting life! 🫣🤣
This appointment has been almost 6 months in the making… I have had several years of some weird and not so wonderful health issues which I had almost learned to live with and thought were just “life”.
Over the past 6 months however, I have had other health concerns -
a back injury,
bladder issues,
shingles,
opening a door onto my face (worsening clumsiness) ,
a viral lung infection
and last month an infected cyst which ruptured in my shoulder blade and the emergency op to remove it… 🥺
All of which have affected me being able to train consistently… I can count on both my hands how many times I’ve trained since Xmas 😩
and when you add that to an already tough list of symptoms -
waking at 2am almost every night and not being able to go back to sleep,
anxiety which has rocked my very core,
brain fog,
night sweats,
2-3 hour daily naps
random bleeding
and a regular feeling of impending doom
amongst other things😤🙄🤯
It’s been a bit of a rough ride.
I’ve had
A referral to the sleep clinic
Another to the professor of CADASIL at Addenbrooks hospital
Blood tests
An MRI
And yesterday since there’s been some research into whether it’s OK for women with CADASIL to have HRT and it’s thought that the risk of stroke is not as high as they first thought, I was given some HRT to help alleviate some of this stuff because quite frankly enough is enough…!
So this morning I’m here about to slather my thighs in a gel which I hope will bring me closer to being myself again. 🤞
I know this will resonate with so many of you… please comment and share your experience
- how has HRT helped you?
- are you undecided about trying it?
- do you regret trying it?
- patches, gels or sprays? ( pills are still too big a risk)
Isn’t being a woman just so much fun sometimes!?! 🤩
Anyway the good news is that HRT is free (ish), you go to gov.co.uk/HRT and you download a pre payment certificate for less than £20 and then get all your HRT meds for free for the year!
Just renew it every year. I didn’t know this and pharmacies apparently don’t tell you but I think this is a great thing so I’m sharing it here for you in case you didn’t know…. 💗
