Our Manchester Phlebotomy Part One course runs at Salford Watersports Centre on The Quays.

Step 2: Assign a runner Point directly at a specific person nearby and tell them to locate the nearest public defibrillator. Don't rely on a general crowd—give one person the job.

Step 3: Press hard and fast Place your hands in the centre of the chest and push down firmly at 100 to 120 beats per minute. Keep going continuously.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

If you're hoping to work in care, or you've just started, here's something experienced carers wish they'd been told earlier: mental health shows up in two places, in the people you support and in you.

For the people you support:
• Notice changes, like being quieter than usual or skipping meals
• Ask open questions and give time for the answer
• Record and report what you see

For yourself:
• Take your breaks. Properly
• Talk to your supervisor early, not at breaking point
