Blow the Whistle invites everyone who cares about sport to take shared responsibility for challenging abuse.

Domestic abuse and sexual violence remain widespread, yet are often hidden, minimised or misunderstood. Harmful behaviours, including emotional abuse, coercive control and intimidation, are too often normalised, and many people who notice warning signs don’t feel confident to speak out.

𝗕𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀:
• Noticing when something isn’t right
• Calling out abusive behaviour safely
• Checking in and showing care
• Making support visible and accessible

We’re incredibly grateful to Grant and Lorraine for fundraising in support of First Light

After their daughter experienced a serious sexual offence at the age of 12, she showed incredible strength in finding her voice and going through the police investigation and court process.

With the support of an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA), she was able to access the emotional and practical support she needed during an incredibly difficult time.

Now, Grant and Lorraine are taking on a 10k to help ensure others can access that same vital support.

Change happens when organisations stand together.

Blow the Whistle is a national campaign led by First Light, using one of sport’s most recognisable symbols to stand up for people’s safety and dignity. It harnesses the shared language and power of sport to challenge domestic abuse and sexual violence, encourage people to recognise abuse, and remind communities that support is always available.

You don’t need specialist knowledge to take part, just the willingness to notice, care and respond.

What does “blowing the whistle” mean?
📣 Noticing when something doesn’t feel right
📣 Calling out abuse safely and responsibly
📣 Checking in and showing care
📣 Signposting support instead of staying silent

As the World Cup approaches, visibility matters.
