The Laser Clinic

The Laser Clinic The Laser Clinic provides a wide variety of Laser and Aesthetic treatments - all of which are performed by highly trained practitioners. NB.

We believe in giving all our clients the factual information. We are open about our prices (no hidden surprises), we discuss realistic outcomes of treatment and we take our time and listen to your concerns and ensure that your privacy and dignity are respected at all times. We offer you our commitment, our levels of clinical excellence and our promise to work with you and your goals. Of course we

are always ready to answer any questions that you may have and consultations are free of charge and without obligation. All our lasers are Class IV lasers and our nurses and aestheticians have all undertaken mandatory ‘Core of Knowledge’ training. The training ensures that the practitioner understands and is competent in the following:

Core of Knowledge Training:

Features of light from laser and IPL equipment Hazards from equipment and laser/IPL beams
Working safely in the laser/IPL Controlled Area
Safety procedures, policies and safety management
Care Quality Commission registration requirements
The Laser Clinic has been open since January 2008 and offers a wide range of laser and aesthetic treatments. Realistic prices with options to suit all budgets. An initial consultation and patch test means that you know how effective the laser treatment will be, how your skin will react, and how many sessions you are likely to need. You are under no obligation at all to continue after the initial consultation. And if you’re not suitable, we won’t charge you for the initial consultation. After-care
You will be given aftercare advice (verbal and written) both before and after your laser treatment, so you know what to expect and how to limit any discomfort. You can also ring one of our friendly staff on 01793 686486 at any time with your questions. Although laser treatment is suitable for most people, not everyone is a good candidate. If we feel a different method would be better for you, we’ll suggest it, and can quite often offer possible alternatives. We would never pressure you to undergo any treatment – it is entirely up to you. There is FREE parking on Wootton Bassett high street. For directions please see Location

Transgendered

Whatever your sexuality, The Laser Clinic welcomes you. All practitioners are Registered Nurses and Aestheticians, and all treatment is performed with professionalism and sensitivity. We are able to offer Permanent Hair Removal with Electrolysis and welcome clients who are transgendered. We are friendly and sympathetic and have a wealth of experience of the transgendered world. Your visit will be treated with the upmost confidentiality and professionalism. Some helpful information for the transgendered community can be found at theangels.co.uk

TANNING AND LASER - what you need to know…

The weather is doing its finest impersonation of ‘might need a coat this morning, could get sunburnt on the school run this afternoon’ recently, but did you know the impact tanning has on laser treatment? The risk of pigmentation changes, burning, blistering and potential scarring or discolouration means tanning and laser is a big no no.

Whilst we’re never going to advocate for tanning, some treatments are still safe after sun exposure, such as electrolysis. If you’re interested in laser treatment but not sure what that means for you with the ever changing weather, you can find our more in this months blog via the link in our bio ☀️

Happy pride month 🏳️‍🌈

Whilst pride marks the landmark stonewall riots that were a catalyst for change in rights for the LGBTQIA+ community, we’ve been reflecting on how pride isn’t always rainbows & joy for everyone - there is still a long way to go for equality.

However you identify, whether you celebrate pride or have more complex feelings on it, we are proud to offer a space where you can be yourself, without judgement.

What to do if you’re concerned about your skin

If you’ve noticed something new or changing on your skin, do you know what to do next?

If you’ve noticed

👉🏼 A new growth or lesion
👉🏼 an area that isn’t healing (>4 weeks)
👉🏼 a change in skin texture or colour, or persistent itching that hasn’t resolved -

Take photos, and see your GP. Checking your skin regularly is such an important step in early detection of changes. Always take photos of anything you’re unsure of to track and monitor changes, and if unsure see your GP. A dermatology specialist will be able to assess the concern and where necessary take appropriate action. Early detection saves lives.

Checking your skin - staying safe

Your skin is your bodies largest organ, and we often overlook it. The first step in skin safety is getting to know your skin - this means monthly checking, and it’s easier than it sounds.

Once a month - after washing is ideal - take your time to check your skin all over. Face, scalp, body, arms & legs, hands and feet, paying special attention to areas exposed to the sun. A full length mirror and good lighting will help. Notice your moles, and the texture and colour of your skin. This then becomes your baseline for when you check again the following month. Taking photos of anything that you’re unsure about is a great way to monitor if there are any changes - but the first step is observation. And to do this effectively, you need to know what your skin is like.

Do you check your skin regularly? If you have any helpful tips, please share in the comments 🧡

And as the weather gets better, we’ll also be looking at the role the sun plays in skin health and how it interacts with laser and light based treatments. If there’s something specific you’d like to know or want us to cover, drop us a comment, a DM or follow the link in bio for more info 🧡

Electrolysis myths, debunked

We hear a lot of myths when people come for electrolysis consultations. Common ones we hear are:

🚫Treatment is painful - ✅ sure, it’s not relaxing, but each hair is treated for a fraction of a second. It’s come a long way since each individual hair needed 10 seconds of treatment!

🚫 Electrolysis isn’t permanent - ✅ it’s actually the only form of hair removal that can legally be called permanent

🚫 Electrolysis only works on certain hair and skin types - ✅ electrolysis is suitable for all hair and skin types

🚫 Anyone can have electrolysis - ✅ whilst electrolysis is suitable for most, it isn’t suitable for all which is why we offer free, no obligation consultations to assess suitability, safety & your specific needs from treatment.

If you’re interested in electrolysis, you can find out more & get in touch via the link in the bio 💻
