I first started publicly teaching these arts way back in 1996. Since then my understanding, appreciation and practice of these arts continues to grow through the wonderful teachers it has been my privilege to train under. If not for them, I wouldn't have a clue.

Back in the day we didnt have YouTube or the internet to do our research. All we had was the teacher or teachers we were training under. One of the practices that I now teach, we were given sheets of paper detailing the moves and told not to share it beyond our group. Such was the secretiveness of these arts back then.

These days the internet is awash with tons of information, including what is classed as "inner door" teachings that were certainly not available to us back in the day.

However, information solely is never enough. The challenge, the difficultly is attempting to embody these teachings so one is not merely memorisation shapes and names but inwardly starts to get an appreciation of what these shapes and names are referring too.

In an age of online videos and virtual learning, there is still no real substitute for physically attending Tai Chi and Qigong classes in person. The direct human experience — learning together, sharing energy, receiving personal guidance, and practising in a calm and supportive atmosphere — offers something that simply cannot be replicated through a screen.

Tai Chi and Qigong are living arts. Their deeper qualities are best discovered through genuine practice within a friendly, warm, and non-competitive environment where people can relax, breathe, move naturally, and reconnect with themselves and others.

My teaching is rooted in over 35 years of continual study with respected Tai Chi and Qigong teachers, alongside a meditation practice that has evolved over nearly half a century. I continue to study and deepen these practices to this day, and I always endeavour to share the richness, authenticity, and transformative benefits they have brought into my own life.

Whether you are seeking better health, relaxation, balance, inner peace, or simply a welcoming space away from the pressures of modern life, you are warmly invited to come and experience these arts for yourself.

Tai Chi & Qigong are known as Internal Arts. This means that much of the practice the mind is focussed inside on what we call the dantien or on certain acupuncture points. However, there is another practice that I call “Coming back to one’s senses” in which we simply return to what our senses are presently telling us. Everything then is calling us home to this present moment. This practice can be very liberating to those who are suffering the machinations and mischief of their monkey minds.

However, this effortless practice may meet with great resistance from the mind that doesn’t want to embrace the present moment, as its always somewhere else, in an imaginary future or addiction to the past.

For those who are ready and sick and tired of the despair, worry and fear that is generated by endless, repetitive and chronic thinking this practice can offer a liberation that brings us back to what all the animals and insects always already know; their present experience without the burden of the endlessly thinking and problem making mind.

Every since I first started e to teach these arts way back in 1996 this has always been at the the heart of what I have always wanted and endeavoured to share with my students.
