Sometimes we forget how powerful it is to simply listen to the body.

That’s really what kinesiology is — a gentle way of finding out what your system is struggling with, what it’s holding onto, and what it needs to feel balanced again.

Through muscle testing, we can uncover stress patterns, emotional blocks, nutritional needs, and the little imbalances that quietly drain your energy.

It’s subtle, but the shifts can be huge. If you’ve been feeling “off” lately and can’t quite put your finger on why, kinesiology is a beautiful way to get clarity and support your body back into ease.

If you are interested in a kinesiology session, give me a shout x

Here’s breathwork post number two (and the last....for now at least!) — and this one is even easier to do without anyone noticing than the stacked breathing I shared last time.

It’s called box breathing, and it’s perfect for those moments when everything feels a bit too much.

Breathe in for 4.
Hold for 4.
Exhale for 4.
Hold for 4.

Repeat a few rounds and you’ll feel your system start to settle.

It’s steady, rhythmic, and subtle enough to use anywhere — a tiny pattern that quietly brings you back into yourself when your mind is racing ahead.

So easy.....x

I said I’d share a couple of breathwork posts, so here’s the first one — and it’s one of my favourite “you can do this anywhere and no one will ever know” techniques.

It’s called stacked breathing (or I've heard some call it top up breathing)...

Take a slow, deep breath in… and when you think you’ve filled your lungs as much as you can, breathe in that tiny bit more. Just a little top‑up.
Hold for a count of four.
Then let it out slowly.

Do that 2 or 3 times and you’ll feel your whole system start to settle. It’s subtle enough to use in a queue, in the car, mid‑conversation (although not whilst you are talking obviously!), or whenever you feel your stress levels rising and need to bring yourself back down to earth.

That extra “top‑up” breath gently expands the lungs and sends a calm‑down signal to the nervous system, helping you shift out of that wired, overwhelmed state and back into something steadier and more grounded.

A tiny technique, but such a powerful reset x

I said I’d let you know how the breathwork session went last night, so here goes!

I've done a fair bit of breathwork practice in the past but this was my first long breathwork journey. It was nice to simply have that time carved out for myself and to be spending it with my sister at my side.

The actual journey was really gentle for me — nothing dramatic or intense (even with the screaming that took place at one point!) — just a steady space to breathe, drift a bit, come back, drift again, and come back again - you know the drill.
Fair play to those who managed to be completely with it 100% of the time!

It was good to give myself permission to slow down for a while and let someone else guide the pace.

Sometimes its nice to have reminders of how good it feels to just stop and breathe.

I feel a couple of posts on breathwork coming up...get ready!

Tomorrow night I’m trying something a bit different — a Phoenix Breathwork Method evening with my sister. Yes… I am literally going to be taught how to breathe. You never know, I might have been doing it “wrong” for 51 years!

Joking aside, breathwork looks so simple from the outside, but it can have such a powerful effect on stress, overwhelm, and how grounded you feel in your own body.

Phoenix Breathwork blends functional breathing with somatic release, so I’m really curious to see what this type is like in practice.

I’ll report back on how I get on! x

How to Reset Your Rhythm (Without Becoming a 5am Person)

Good news: you don’t need a colour‑coded morning routine or a sunrise meditation to reset your circadian rhythm.

Here are gentle, doable steps that actually work:
1. Get 5–10 minutes of morning daylight
Outside is best, but even standing by a bright window helps (standing on grass for a couple of minutes too is bloody perfection!)

2. Keep your wake‑up time roughly consistent
Your body loves predictability more than perfection - we aren't that different to toddlers hahaha....

3. Eat meals at similar times each day (and not too late!)
This helps your digestive rhythm sync with your sleep rhythm.

4. Reduce blue light in the evening
Warm lighting, screen dimmers, or just putting your phone down earlier than usual.

5. Calm your nervous system before bed
Breathing, stretching, magnesium, journalling — whatever helps your body soften.

When your rhythm resets, everything feels easier - sleep, energy, mood, digestion, stress… all of it.

If you’d like support getting your body back into sync, kinesiology can help you understand what your system is asking for.
You can book a session here whenever you’re ready x
