🌱🪻🪴A big ‘Thank You!’ To Stratton Saint Margaret Parish Council 🪴🪻💐

A big thank you from us, to the 7 volunteers, who have given around 35 hours to Willowbrook View Care Home today, to help us with our Dementia Garden.

Volunteers have mowed, strimmed weeded, and painted, to transform our space.

This multi sensory garden will mean that for those living with Dementia there and lots of sensory prompts to help unlock their memories and a colourful calm space to enjoy.

A big thank you to Ducklings Toy Shop Royal Wootton Bassett who have kindly loaned us their life size Playmobil Fireman, as a Blue Light Emergency Service passenger for our minibus, in Royal Wootton Bassett Carnival today!

Our gratitude also to Ducklings Toy Shop Royal Wootton Bassett for giving us some Playmobil Blue Light Emergency Service figures, to give out on our journey. Watch out for us (see pictures of our minibus below) and you could be lucky enough to get one of these free toys! 👮‍♀️👨‍🚒

🎡🇬🇧Willowbrook View is feeling excited today, to be taking part in Royal Wootton Bassett Carnival!!🎡🇬🇧

We are feeling excited to be a part of this wonderful community event today, which has taken place on the same weekend for 55 years!!

As this year’s theme is ‘heroes and villains’, our Residents and staff have been working hard to decorate our mini bus, to recognise our Blue Light Emergency Service heroes. 🚓🚑🚒

Residents and staff have been busy drawing, cutting out, and painting cardboard figures of our Blue Light Emergency Heroes to decorate our mini bus. They have also painted a sign to say ‘thank you’ to our Blue Light Emergency Services. It was lovely to watch all the care and creativity put into this by everyone! 🎨🖌️👩‍🎨 🚒🚑🚓

If you live locally perhaps you might like to pop over to Royal Wootton Bassett, to enjoy all the festivities throughout the day on the High Street, and to watch the carnival procession 4.30-6.30pm, which travels around the main roads of the town. On International Nurses Day we have been recognising those who provide invaluable medical help to everyone, including our Residents, at Willowbrook View Care Home.

We have been offering our thanks to Nurses and medical teams at the Great Western Hospital by sharing news of our Blue Light Complimentary Tasty Breakfast, on the first Friday of each month, as well as delivering a few goodies!!!

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 Residents, families, staff, and visitors all celebrated VE Day together, with a street party at Willowbrook View Care Home, on Friday! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Residents, families, staff, and friends all enjoyed an indoor street party, in Willowbrook View’s Bistro, which was festooned with red, white, and blue balloons, bunting and decor, to mark VE Day 2026.

Staff dressed in borrowed uniforms from The Tailors Shop in Royal Wootton Bassett, which are often made and loaned for tv and film production.

Residents donned union flag boater hats, braces, bow ties, and bows, to mark the occasion.

Vintage drinks such as Dandelion & Burdock were poured and an Afternoon Tea of home baked cakes, scones, and sausage rolls were served by Chef.

Musical entertainer Bob Charles, sang war time sing along songs for everyone to join in with and for some to dance to as well!

A most joyful time was had by all!

Great to meet the Air Ambulance bear today at the Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club Sausage & Cider Festival, who is raising funds for a great cause and who was pleased to learn about our Blue Light Breakfast for Emergency Service Workers, on the First Friday of each month.
