Community Together CIC invites you to be part of a very special afternoon:

**Compassionate Tamworth – Stories of Loss, Care and Connection Through Our Personal Treasures**

This event forms part of a special celebration marking **Tamworth’s recognition as a Compassionate Town by Public Health Palliative Care International (PHPCI)** — acknowledging the strength of our community in supporting one another through care, compassion, grief and connection.

As part of this important occasion, **The Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Professor Elizabeth Barnes CBE**, will formally present the award to **The Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Ken Norchi**, and **Tamworth Borough Council Chief Executive, Stephen Gabriel**.

We are also delighted to be joined by renowned antiques expert and TV personality **Charles Hanson**, who will help us explore the stories, memories and emotions connected to the objects we hold dear.

Sometimes a piece of jewellery, an ornament, a book, a photograph, a garden treasure, or another special item can keep the memories of our loved ones alive in our hearts. These personal treasures often carry stories that deserve to be shared.

We are inviting members of the community to come forward and bring an item that has special meaning to them and share the story behind it.

Together we will create an afternoon of conversation, memories, laughter, reflection and connection as we remember the people who continue to live on in our hearts.

From 1st–7th June, we proudly celebrate Volunteers’ Week – a time to recognise and thank the incredible people who give their time, energy, compassion, and talents to make our communities stronger.

At Community Together CIC, volunteers are at the very heart of everything we do. They are the friendly faces that welcome people through our doors, the helping hands that support community activities, the listening ears that offer comfort, and the champions who bring people together.

Every conversation, every act of kindness, every event, every community clean-up, every shared meal, every smile, and every moment of support helps create a place where people feel valued, included, and connected.

This week, we want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to every volunteer who has been part of our journey. Whether you have volunteered for a few hours, a few months, or many years, your contribution matters. You have helped us build stronger communities, reduce isolation, create opportunities, and make a real difference in people’s lives.
