LIFT ladies take on London! ❤️🚌🫖

Yesterday, five of my lovely LIFT ladies and I headed to London for a day out to celebrate Tracey turning 60 last month and Philippa’s 60th birthday coming up next month. 🥂🎂

We jumped on the train and headed into London, enjoying a walk through Green Park and past Buckingham Palace before making our way to the main event… afternoon tea on a traditional red London double-decker bus! 🚌

We climbed aboard and settled in for a delicious afternoon tea as we toured around London, taking in some of the famous sights along the way, including Big Ben, London Bridge and Kensington.

There were sandwiches, delicious little cakes and sweet treats, all washed down with unlimited tea and coffee. ☕🧁 Plenty to enjoy whilst chatting, laughing and catching up along the way! What a great way to see London whilst doing something a little different.

After all that, we headed to Purgatory for drinks. A really unusual bar tucked away in the vaulted cellars of a Victorian building in Victoria, with gothic interiors, candlelit surroundings and incredible architecture. Definitely somewhere a little different to finish off our day! 🖤🥂

There were lots of laughs, great company and some lovely memories made.

One of the things I love most about LIFT is that it’s not just about what we do in the gym. Yes, we lift weights, get stronger and challenge ourselves but along the way, friendships develop too and being able to spend time together outside the gym, celebrating special occasions and making memories, makes it even more special.

Getting older doesn’t mean slowing down or stopping having fun. Our 50s and 60s can be full of strength, new experiences, great friendships and plenty of adventures!

Happy birthday celebrations, Tracey and Philippa! ❤️

Who says getting older means getting boring? Not us! 😂🥂

Women supporting women 💪

Yesterday at the gym, Kate was already there training and Tina arrived a few minutes after me.

Somehow we all ended up working on assisted pull-ups together… 😂

I asked Kate and Tina to have a go — although, to be fair, they didn’t really have much choice! 😂

It was actually great doing them together, encouraging each other and seeing what we could do.....
And I worked on mine too.

That’s the thing about getting stronger… there’s always something to work on, whatever your age or where you are on your journey.

Sometimes you just need someone beside you saying, “Come on, give it a go.”......
And sometimes you surprise yourself.

I love seeing women in their 50s and beyond training, lifting, trying things they thought they couldn’t do and supporting each other along the way.

We’re not too old.

We’re not winding down.

We’re still getting stronger. 💪

And having a laugh while we’re doing it!

What’s something you’ve done recently that you didn’t think you could do? I’d love to hear it. 👇

✨ Mindset Monday ✨

We’ve become so used to hearing about 12-week transformations that it can feel like 12 weeks is the amount of time it should take to completely change your body and your life.

Yes — 12 weeks can make a huge difference.

You can get stronger.
Improve your fitness.
Change your measurements.
Lose body fat.
Feel more confident.

If you want to change your body composition, build strength and create habits that actually last...

12 weeks is just the beginning......Because you’re not just changing your body.
You’re changing your habits.
Your mindset.
Your relationship with exercise.
The way you fuel yourself.
And the way you look after yourself when life gets busy.

That takes time.

So instead of asking:
“What can I achieve in 12 weeks?”

Ask yourself:
“What could I achieve if I kept going for 12 months?”

That’s why I’m putting together something new for women who want to make strength training part of their lifestyle, rather than something they do for a few weeks and then stop.

More details coming very soon. 💪

12 weeks can absolutely be a brilliant starting point.....But it’s not the finish line.

STRENGTH JOURNEY 💪

Not every week is going to have a big PB or a major milestone… and that’s okay.

Last week was a little lighter on training than usual because we were away last weekend. I managed an upper-body session on my own on Tuesday, then trained with Mike Friday for lower body.

I’ve also got a bit of a niggle in my hip at the moment… an ongoing SI Joint issue which has flared up slightly… that meant I was compensating slightly in my squat Friday. Rather than trying to push through it, we reduced the weight and adapted the session....And you know what? It was still a great training session.

Adaptation is part of training.

It’s something I do with my clients all the time. If something isn’t quite right, we don’t necessarily have to stop. We look at what we can do and change the exercise, weight, range of movement or whatever we need to.

Sometimes training smart means doing a little less.

It doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.

I’m really enjoying this next phase of training with Mike and next week I’ll be back to my full training plan.

For now, I’m happy that I trained, listened to my body and made the session work for me.

Consistency doesn’t mean doing everything perfectly. It means adapting and keeping going.

This is a long game. 💪
