You see us put on our glasses, switch on the machine, and begin your treatment, but a lot happens before we ever get to that point.
Behind every appointment is professional training, an understanding of laser physics, skin typing, contraindications, treatment settings and how different skin concerns respond to different technologies.
We also need to know when something should not be treated, when settings need to be adjusted and how your skin has responded since your previous appointment.
Then there is your consultation, medical history, skin assessment, treatment planning, patch testing where required, preparation and aftercare.
Good laser treatment is not simply pointing a machine at a concern and pressing a button.
There is knowledge and decision making behind every treatment we perform, including knowing when it is safer or more appropriate not to treat.
When you are comparing laser clinics, look beyond the price of the appointment.
Consider who will be treating you, the technology they are using, how thoroughly you are assessed and what happens before your first treatment.
All of those things are an important part of your experience and your treatment plan.
