Reflect PMLD

Slightly off topic, but the Reflect team does a lot to help local causes , and this is no exception. Women are less likely to receive CPR from strangers due to reluctance to expose the woman’s breasts, or fear of accusations. Our Shelly is taking part in the Dare to Bare swim to raise awareness of that little known but potentially life threatening fact, and raise money for Air Ambulance at the same time. It’s a very worthwhile cause, so please do support Shelly.

Earlier this year Reflect supported a research project looking into the lived experiences of family carers of people with PMLD (we don’t get a credit due to the arcane decision-making of the dusty old men and women who make up university ethics committees). That research turned into a report which turned into a five minute film, which turned into some powerful emotional responses when we premiered it on Tuesday. All we need to do now is turn it into action.

The rain has returned to Somerset, but while the sun was out Reflect were out and about. The sunny weather makes exploration and community engagement easier, but it’s the generosity of spirit from those we meet (human and non human) that adds the warmth. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone.
