Did you know that 10% of your brain is used for conscious day stuff, i.e. analytical thinking, internal chatter from the ego (i.e. does my bum look big in this), planning the day, understanding our world and suchlike.
The rest is used by the subconscious.
So what may you ask is the subconscious mind doing? New skills can take a while to learn, but eventually it’s locked in to the subconscious. Then you can do something without thinking, for example, driving a car. So, it helps us to remember. It creates a habit, if you like.
On a deeper subconscious level, the body’s operating system is automatic, with no conscious thought required. It deals with breathing, digesting your lunch, making new cells, growing your hair, nails etc. Could you imagine having to think your way through all those tasks.
Memories (and emotional patterns) remain in the subconscious, even those that are forgotten consciously. Can you express your emotions easily? If you can, that’s brill. Most of us struggle, not wanting to be seen as weak, etc. So emotions get buried, but sadly not lost. They will still resonate and can get triggered regularly.
When emotional energies get trapped, they cause the old feelings to seep into your daily life.
Your subconscious is a memory bank. Every feeling, taste, look, sound, emotion, family belief, inherited energies, values, preferences… the good, bad and ugly, all stored. This helps to create the conscious person we are, how we operate in our world.
The subconscious also connects us to our spiritual selves. When we surrender old emotional energies, release karma, our soul can create the life it came into this incarnation for. Our soul is at our core, it brings creativity, love, compassion, calm, connection ♥︎
