Community Emergency Hub Pilot Participation

SOMERSET COUNCIL are planning a training exercise, this will take place from 12:00 on Wednesday 7th October at Wiveliscombe Community Centre, West St, Taunton TA4 2JP. This is designed to give communities the confidence and experience to implement and run a Community Emergency Hub, increase community resilience, and aid the response to a wide range of emergency situations.

For the scenario to be as realistic and beneficial as possible, we will need as many participants as we can attract. I would therefore be grateful if you could help raise awareness of the event within your community and networks and encourage all who may be interested in community resilience to attend.

The NHS is encouraging eligible people to book their flu vaccination ahead of this winter.

FROM 1 SEPTEMBER
💛 Pregnant women
💛 Children aged 2–3
💛 School-aged children, from Reception to Year 11
💛 Children aged 6 months to 17 years in clinical risk groups

FROM 1 OCTOBER
💙 Adults aged 65+
💙 Adults aged 18–64 in clinical risk groups
💙 Eligible carers
💙 People in long-stay residential care homes
💙 Eligible frontline social care workers
💙 Close contacts of people who are immunocompromised
💙 People experiencing homelessness
