Today, the ponies reminded me of something.

They weren’t rushing.
They weren’t worrying about tomorrow.
They weren’t trying to tick off a never-ending to-do list.

They were simply grazing beneath a vast summer sky, beside a gently flowing stream, exactly where they were meant to be.

I stood for a moment and watched them, and it struck me how rarely we allow ourselves to do the same.

To pause.
To be still.
To notice the clouds drifting overhead.
To feel the warmth of the sun.
To let our minds wander without reaching for our phones.

We spend so much of life moving from one thing to the next that we forget our bodies weren’t designed to be in a constant state of “go”.

Sometimes wellness isn’t another thing to add to the list.

Sometimes it’s standing in a field for a few minutes and remembering that you’re part of nature too.

What’s one small thing you’ve noticed today that made you stop and smile?

Well, June has certainly arrived with a bang! 🌧️

After weeks of dry weather, the rain is finally giving our gardens, hedgerows and thirsty fields a much-needed drink. Although, if we’re being honest, we do hope June remembers that summer is on the way and doesn’t get too carried away!

While the weather does its thing, things are getting beautifully busy behind the scenes as we prepare for our upcoming Day Retreat. Plans are coming together, goody bags are taking shape, and we’re looking forward to creating a calm, nurturing space away from the noise of everyday life.

A day to pause, breathe, reconnect with yourself and spend time in good company, surrounded by nature and gentle wellbeing practices.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, we’d love to welcome you. There are still a few spaces available.

Sometimes the greatest act of self-care is simply giving yourself permission to stop for a while. 💚

One of my favourite sights at this time of year is seeing the foxgloves standing tall above the bracken on Dartmoor. Every year they appear as if by magic, adding splashes of colour to the landscape and quietly reminding us that the seasons are always moving forward.

This is one of my favourite walking spots. It’s rare to see another person here and, more often than not, I switch my phone off completely.

For an hour or two, nobody needs anything from me.

There are no emails to answer, no notifications to check and no endless to-do lists demanding attention. Just the sound of the breeze through the grass, birdsong overhead and the chance to simply walk.

Walking has a wonderful way of creating space. Sometimes it’s where I untangle a problem I’ve been worrying about. Sometimes it’s where new ideas appear from nowhere. Other times, it’s enough just to notice what’s changing around me — the foxgloves blooming, the bracken unfurling, the subtle shift from spring into summer.

It’s one of the reasons I love our fortnightly walks so much. They’re not about fitness targets or covering miles. They’re about slowing down, noticing the season we’re in and giving ourselves permission to pause for a while.

If you’ve been feeling the need for a little breathing space lately, perhaps a gentle walk is exactly what you need. 🌿

One of my lovely regular clients shared something today that genuinely made me smile.

He’s in his 70s and has lived with asthma for most of his life, alongside severe hayfever that has stopped him enjoying the countryside for the past 10 years. Springtime walks, fresh air, wildflowers… all became something to avoid rather than enjoy (which is a bit of an issue when you live in the heart of the Devon countryside!).

This year though, things have felt very different. He told me his symptoms have been minimal, he’s been able to get back outdoors and enjoy the season again, and for the first time in years hasn’t felt anxious about the effects of pollen.

He still takes his regular medication and carries his inhalers, but the only thing he feels has changed has been having regular reflexology treatments every two weeks over the past 6 months.

Now, reflexology is never a replacement for medical care, and everybody’s experience is different, but hearing stories like this is such a lovely reminder of how powerful relaxation, balance and supporting the nervous system can be. 🌿

And honestly… being able to enjoy the countryside in spring again feels like a bit of magic. ✨

What’s your wellness non-negotiable? 🌿

Not the perfect morning routine.
Not the green juice you forgot about in the fridge.
Just the one small thing that genuinely helps you feel more like you.

Mine? Getting outside. Even for ten minutes. Fresh air, a quiet lane, muddy boots, a sky that reminds me the world is bigger than my to-do list.

Maybe yours is:
✨ An early night
✨ A cup of tea in peace
✨ A daily walk
✨ Yoga
✨ Reading before bed
✨ Reflexology
✨ Saying “no” without guilt

Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective. Often it’s the simple things we come back to again and again that keep us balanced.

So tell me — what’s the one wellness habit you protect no matter how busy life gets? 👇

This was this morning’s Accessible Path walk - slightly damp and a bit cold.

But did you know that regardless of the weather, a gentle wander in nature can do more for the body and mind than we often realise. Fresh air, birdsong, natural light and movement all help to calm the nervous system and bring us back to ourselves a little.

Walking outdoors can help to:
🍃 reduce stress and feelings of overwhelm
🍃 support better sleep and mood
🍃 improve circulation and energy levels
🍃 lower cortisol and help regulate the nervous system
🍃 create space for clearer thinking and emotional processing
🍃 encourage mindfulness without even trying

And perhaps most importantly… nature reminds us that everything moves in seasons. Rest, growth, slowing down, starting again — it’s all part of the cycle.

I always notice how different I feel after being outside, even if it’s only for twenty minutes. The shoulders soften, the breathing deepens and the mind quietens a little. Cheap therapy really, courtesy of the great outdoors 🌿

If you’d like to experience the benefits for yourself, why not join us on our next Wellness Walk? Details and booking information can be found here ➡️ [ahmiareflexology.co.uk/wellbeing-walks-tavistock]

Today’s vibes are mostly Spring, with a spot of cuckoo and a dash of May sunshine ☀️🌿

This morning’s walk on the moor felt like a deep exhale — birdsong, fresh air and that unmistakable sound of the cuckoo echoing across the fields. Nature really does know how to help us slow down.

If you’d like to experience the vibes for yourself, there are still spaces available on Monday’s Well-being Walk 👣 A gentle pace, friendly company and time to soak up the benefits of being outdoors.

Perfect if you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed or simply craving some fresh air and headspace.

You can book your space using the link below 🌼

The kind of quiet you didn’t know you needed…

Rain against the window.
A slower morning.
Permission to not rush.

Not all regulation happens outside.

Sometimes your nervous system needs warmth, stillness, and a softer pace instead of fresh air and movement.

Rest isn’t lazy — it’s repair.

And on days like this, your body might be asking you to listen in, rather than go out.

Do you find rain calming… or unsettling?
