So I've been asked a lot over the last year or so and again recently whether I do /could do a floating Sound/Gong Bath as there is a rising trend of sound baths happening in swimming pools and spas.

Here's the thing....I get why it seems like a great idea.......I appreciate that there is something calming ...perhaps even womb like about floating listening to soothing sounds but there are other important things to consider...

When receiving a Gong/Sound Bath, we deeply relax, open up and absorb frequencies from Gongs and other therapeutic instruments. The vibrations cause the cells in our bodies to stir, gradually bringing them back into balance. This is a reset....and often works on a very deep level. I always aim to provide the best environment and hold space for this to happen.

We know water is a great conductor of sound (our bodies are appprox 80% water!), however the water in swimming pools contains chlorine, bleach & other nasty chemicals....this leaches into the surrounding environment...we can often smell it... Swimming pools are not the ideal environment. It seems a bit counter intuitive (detoxing/clearing only to be breathing in/surrounded by toxins again!).

This is the reason I dont do them.

Natural lakes and natural bodies of water.......now that's a different thing! That would be a YES from me (as long as it doesn't upset the local ecosystem or wildlife) xx
