Last night I watched Fighting Endometriosis by .
My gosh, it made me cry.
Maybe it was the feeling of finally being heard and seen as someone living with endometriosis. Maybe it was hearing so many stories that felt very familiar.
Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women, yet awareness, funding and research still lag far behind many other conditions.
It’s as common as asthma, yet it can take years to receive a diagnosis (on average 9 years!). Years of pain, uncertainty, being dismissed, questioning yourself, and wondering if what you’re experiencing is real.
This disease impacts so much more than periods. It affects careers, relationships, mental health, fertility, and the ability to live life without fear of what your body might do next.
I urge everyone to watch this programme. It shines a light on the reality of living with endometriosis and why change is so desperately needed.
For those living with it: I see you. 🤍 🎗️
