Treenatritious - The Health Coach

Treenatritious - The Health Coach I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master. I'm also a Mum and Real Foods advocate. I suddenly felt superhuman!

I coach clients around Food, Cooking, Daily Movement, Life Purpose, Relationships and Spirituality. As a long term 'health freak' I was always interested in eating healthily and thought I had it sorted some years ago - rye bread, gluten free products etc... But then my Crossfit addict of a husband made me look at Paleo. To placate him, I read 'It Starts with Food' and it blew my mind so I did the

'Whole30' (30 days of very clean eating) and I couldn't believe the difference, even after two weeks. I was literally bouncing out of bed at 6am, alert and ready to work (which was no mean feat as my friends & family could tell you. I am Not a ‘morning person’!) My performance at Crossfit enhanced dramatically and I was no longer ‘slumping’ in the afternoon. I even endured a full day of presentations in a stuffy lecture theatre where most others were sleeping, yet I was fully engaged and focussed. I felt like the ‘limitless’ Bradley Cooper after taking the mind empowering drug as I was suddenly more capable in so many areas in my life. And this was purely from changing my diet over just a few weeks! The swollen ankle that had bothered me for six months just disappeared - never to return again. I was a changed woman, though that deep relationship with ‘other’ food was still calling...

The re-introduction of the 'problem' food groups highlighted to me that dairy affected my sinuses within 5 minutes and non-gluten grains caused me to suffer from all over body pain and inflammation in any weak areas. I spent a few years repeating this process and making other 'tweaks' so that on a scientific level (for me), I knew what affected me and what didn't, which allows me to make individual food choices based on what works best for me. I then began to share this knowledge with others, teaching them how to cook like me and how to change their diet to feel healthier. I also began supporting people through elimination diets and suddenly realised that I was 'health coaching', so I decided to get a qualification to make it official! I signed up at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York and studied hard (getting 100% in most of my exams!) and finally became a Certified Health Coach. I began coaching clients with amazing success and quickly realised I had found my life purpose. This is why I wanted to set up my business. I love people and I want to help them feel as great as I do. I am passionate about helping people to discover their own truth, not what we’re told by those invested to profit from it. Everyone can feel more healthy just by choosing more healthy foods. I am a testament to that. However, what I have subsequently realised is that food is only a small part of it, hence becoming a health coach and not just a cook. No matter how organic a yoga practising vegan you are, if you hate your job or are in a bad relationship, you will never feel good or happy. It's all about balance. I believe that is why I'm here - to help create that balance in my own life and in the lives of others. The more balanced, happy and healthy we are, the better our planet will be. My vision is world peace, but Health Coaching is a good start!

Finally getting back into my normal rhythm after a brilliant but VERY full summer 🙌

For me, this isn’t about suddenly doing everything perfectly again. It’s getting back to the little things I know make me feel good… better food, strength training, sleep, routine and actually listening to what my body is telling me.

I’ve also had a really interesting experience with changing my ashwagandha over the summer… 👀 I’ll come back to that one!

For now, I’m just happy to be getting my energy, strength and routine back, one step at a time.

Anyone else ready to feel like themselves again after summer? 💗

When life gives you no electricity… make sushi 😂

We currently have a limited electricity supply in our French Mountain house (French electricity supply is sooo different! 🤦🏻‍♀️), which means no oven, no hob, no air fryer… and I never owned a microwave in the first place.

So last night Fletcher and I decided we’d make sushi.

Our one slight flaw in the plan was discovering that the “ready-cooked” rice and quinoa we’d bought actually needed heating. We tried it cold. It was awful. 😂🤢

So… change of plan.

We got everything out, used what we had and made our own rice-free maki with salmon, avocado, tapenade, cucumber and cream cheese, with a big leftover salad, feta, olives, romanesco and extra salmon.

And you know what? It was delicious. And filling. And really fun to make together.

This is the kind of healthy eating I’m interested in.

Not perfect meal plans or getting it “right” every day.

Just looking at what you’ve got, what your body needs, and making the best choice you can in the circumstances you’re actually in.

Healthy doesn’t have to be complicated.

Anyone else ready to get their energy back after the summer? 🙋‍♀️

I definitely am.

No drastic reset. No punishing myself for enjoying the summer. And definitely no trying to change everything overnight.

I’m simply getting back to the things I know help me feel stronger, clearer, more energised and more like myself… one small change at a time.

I’ll be sharing what I’m doing over the next few weeks, so if you’re craving a bit of a reset too, follow along.

We can do it together. 💗

You can eat well.
You can exercise.
You can prioritise your sleep.
You can do all the “healthy” things…

…and still feel that something deeper is keeping you stuck.

I worked with two clients today and, although their sessions were very different, both took us beyond the physical into the emotional and energetic layers of wellbeing.

Recurring patterns. Old emotional wounds. Experiences we haven’t fully processed. Beliefs we’ve carried for years. The things we sometimes don’t even realise we’re holding onto.

This is a part of health coaching that I don’t talk about enough.

*Nourish* is often where we begin… food, sleep, movement, stress, energy and giving your body what it needs.

Then we can *Elevate*… looking deeper at emotions, patterns, nervous-system regulation and what’s keeping you stuck.

And, if and when you’re ready, there’s *Illuminate*… the deeper energetic and spiritual work.

Not everyone wants or needs every layer.

And physical symptoms should absolutely be medically investigated where appropriate. I don’t believe every ache, pain or symptom has an emotional explanation.

But I do believe we’re more than just our physical bodies.

And sometimes, when we’ve addressed the obvious things and something still doesn’t feel right, it’s worth becoming curious about what else our body and our life might be asking us to notice.

This is the work I LOVE.

So if you’ve been looking after your physical health but still have that feeling of “there’s something else…”, perhaps you’re ready to go a little deeper.

You can DM me and we can start with a chat about where you are and what you need. 💚

Ever feel like you’re doing all the right things… but you’re just not getting the results you hoped for?

That was me.

I came home from France and one of my closest friends had completely transformed her body.

She’d worked incredibly hard and achieved an amazing goal.

Naturally, I wanted to know what she’d been doing differently.

As we chatted, I realised something…

We were eating similarly.

We both exercised.

We both cared about our health.

The difference?

She had a very clear goal… and I realised I’d stopped progressing in one key area.

I was lifting the same weights every week instead of gradually increasing them.

That tiny change gave me something new to work towards.

But it also reminded me of something even more important…

Sometimes we don’t need more information.

We need accountability.

Even as a health coach, I have accountability partners and coaches.

Not because I don’t know what to do…

But because having someone in your corner helps you stay consistent when motivation fades.

If you’ve been trying to lose weight, reduce stress, sleep better or simply feel healthier, maybe you don’t need another diet.

Maybe you just need someone to help you keep going.

That’s exactly what I love helping people do.

What’s one goal you’re working towards right now?

Yesterday I watched the RNLI launch to help someone in difficulty at sea.

What struck me most wasn’t just the rescue.

It was the people.

Ordinary people who left whatever they were doing… family time, meals, plans… to help complete strangers.

Volunteers.

No expectation of recognition. Just service.

It made me think about community.

Some people rescue people at sea.

Some coach children’s sports.

Some check on elderly neighbours.

Some quietly pick litter from beaches and parks.

Communities don’t thrive because someone else looks after them.

They thrive because ordinary people decide to contribute.

As I walked around Larne today, I noticed litter everywhere.

Instead of feeling frustrated, I found myself asking a different question…

How do we inspire more people to care?

Perhaps it starts with each of us asking ourselves one simple question:

What can I give back?

It doesn’t have to be something heroic.

Sometimes it’s picking up one piece of litter.

Sometimes it’s giving someone your time.

Sometimes it’s simply choosing to leave a place a little better than you found it.

Small acts, repeated by many people, create extraordinary communities.

What is one small thing you do… or could do… to make your community just a little bit better?

I turned 48 recently.

And the older I get, the less interested I am in pretending I have all the answers.

What I do have is 48 years of living.

Forty-eight years of making mistakes, asking questions, studying, experimenting and learning.

I’ve navigated burnout, stress, low self-worth, inflammation, hormonal changes, emotional eating, smoking, using alcohol as a coping mechanism, and all the little twists and turns that life brings.

I’m not standing here because I’ve lived a perfect life.

I’m standing here because I’ve never stopped being curious.

When something stops working, I ask why.

When I discover something that genuinely helps, I try it myself before ever recommending it to someone else.

I believe the best coaches don’t simply teach from books.

They teach from experience.

They walk their talk.

None of us ever “arrive”. I certainly haven’t.

I hope I’m still learning when I’m 88.

Because curiosity keeps us growing.

And if you’re feeling overwhelmed right now, maybe you don’t need someone who claims to have every answer.

Maybe you just need someone who’s walked a little further along the path and is happy to walk beside you for a while.

When people hear “self-love”, they often think of spa days, holidays or treating themselves.

For me, self-love looks much simpler than that.

It looks like leaving a nail file in every room because I know Future Trionna will be grateful when she snags a nail.

It looks like making double the chilli today because I know there’ll be an evening when I’m tired, hungry and won’t feel like cooking.

It’s all those tiny moments where I quietly tell myself…

“I’ve got you.”

There was a time when I couldn’t honestly say I loved myself.

I avoided photographs, hated hearing my own voice and found it difficult to see anything good when I looked in the mirror.

Learning to love myself didn’t happen overnight. It happened one small act at a time.

Now I look after myself because I know I’m worth looking after.

Here’s a little exercise for you…

Stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eyes and say,

”[Your name], I love you.”

Notice what comes up.

If it feels easy, beautiful.

If it feels uncomfortable, that’s not something to be ashamed of. It might simply be the place where your healing begins.

Because when you start caring for yourself in small, everyday ways, your whole life begins to feel different.

What’s one thing you could do today that your future self will quietly thank you for?

“I don’t eat vegetables.”

That’s what my 27-year-old ‘first child’ told me when I asked what she wanted with her chicken and chips.

I reminded her that she was coming to my house… so vegetables were happening. 😂

Instead of forcing a plate of food on her, I brought out everything fresh in the fridge and encouraged her to taste each vegetable for herself.

French green beans, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, Romanesco, kohlrabi…

And would you believe it? She liked nearly all of them.

Children, teenagers and even fully grown “big kids” can decide they hate vegetables before they’ve tasted a fresh, beautifully prepared version of them.

A watery supermarket tomato and a sun-ripened tomato bursting with flavour are two very different experiences. Raw vegetables can also taste completely different from the overcooked versions many of us remember from childhood.

So make it playful.

Offer different colours and textures. Let them choose. Let them taste without pressure. Get them involved in preparing the food and encourage curiosity rather than making the dinner table a battleground.

Most importantly, help them notice how food makes them feel.

Courtney ate her first proper salad that evening, slept beautifully and woke the next morning feeling nourished and well.

That connection matters.

When we learn to notice how different foods affect our energy, mood, sleep, digestion and body, we can begin making choices because we want to feel good… not simply because someone told us what we “should” eat.

Have you got a vegetable refuser in your house… big or small? Which vegetable might you invite them to taste again?

You don’t need more information… you need a space where you actually follow through.

I almost stopped my son’s guitar lessons.

I was thinking…
“What’s the point? He plays at home. He can learn anything online.”

But then it clicked.

It’s not about the information.

It’s about the space.

That one hour a week?
That’s when he shows up for himself.
That’s when he commits.
That’s when he actually does it.

And honestly… this is exactly what I see with the women I work with.

You already know what to eat.
You already know what would help.

But when you’re tired, overwhelmed, and life gets busy…
it doesn’t happen. It can be hard to devote any time to yourself.

Not because you’re lazy.
Because you don’t have the space, support, or accountability.

That’s the work.

Not more knowledge.
Follow through.

If you feel like you know what to do but you’re not doing it consistently…
I’d love to help you change that.
