Base: Thermo-modified softwood for built-in stability

Step 1: In-house fire treatment and removal of excess burned wood for a beautiful grain to show up and exceptional protection used for thousands of years

Step 2: Svartjära (Black Pine Tar) + raw linseed oil deep condition

The result is a striking black finish that naturally resists moisture, rot, and UV damage. Built to handle the worst weather while looking incredible.

Shou Sugi Ban (charring wood cladding) is a brutal, messy, and exhausting process. You’re covered in soot, fighting the heat, and chasing perfection with a torch. It is hard work, plain and simple.
But there is a profound beauty in using destruction to create resilience. By charring the surface, we aren’t just changing the color—we are protecting the wood, highlighting its raw texture, and creating an exterior that will stand the test of time. True art demands something from you. And the reward? Absolutely breathtaking.

The Sauna Series: Part 1.
Building our new showroom sauna model from the ground up.
First one is Fire.
Charring Scandinavian thermo-softwood (often called Yakisugi or Shou Sugi Ban) is a brilliant choice. Because the wood is already “thermally modified,” it has very little moisture and high stability, making it react beautifully to heat.
The process creates a carbonized layer that acts as a natural shield against UV rays, insects, and rot.

For our last project, sauna on a narrow boat in London for , alongside we have decided to use THERMO ALDER for few reasons:

The Material: Premium Thermo Alder. Heat-treated for enhanced durability and a rich chocolate hue.

The Benefit: Low thermal conductivity. These benches stay comfortable, never “too hot,” even at peak temps.

The Finish: Naturally rot-resistant and chemical-free. A sustainable choice for a floating sanctuary.
