🌟Client Feedback🌟

• What brought you to EAD?

Answer:
I was 75 years old. I had a road traffic accident. I was cautioned by the police and referred to take the ‘Fitness To Drive’ assessment

• How did you feel before the assessment?

Answer:
I was terrified even though I knew I’m a good driver. I had heard so many stories of people who had failed because of their vision. I need not have worried because I had really good peripheral vision.

• How was your experience during the assessment?

Answer:
I was really nervous. The two Assessors were very professional. They explained everything to me as to how the afternoon would progress. They were constantly reassuring which made me feel so much more relaxed.

• Do you have any advice for someone who’s worried about having an assessment?

Answer:
Don’t listen to horror stories. Be prepared and read the documents/ written instructions you receive.
The Assessors are kind and considerate and will do everything to put you at your ease.
Be prepared to drive a vehicle you are unfamiliar with.

🚓Sharing Knowledge and Working Together to Improve Road Safety🚙

This week, we were delighted to welcome officers from Essex Police to East Anglian DriveAbility for a training day, where they were able to learn more about what happens during a specialist driving assessment and the role we play in supporting road safety.

As part of the training, officers had the opportunity to experience some of the cognitive assessments used during our assessments and to drive vehicles fitted with a range of adaptations. This gave them a valuable insight into some of the factors that can affect a person's ability to drive safely, and the ways in which adaptations can support someone to continue driving.

We work closely with police forces, including Essex Police, when there are concerns about an individual's ability to drive safely following a driving incident. Having a greater understanding of what a specialist assessment involves helps us to work together effectively and ensures that appropriate referrals can be made when needed.

We'd like to thank the officers from Essex Police for taking the time to visit us, get involved and learn more about the work we do.

By sharing knowledge and working together, we can all play a part in improving road safety. 🛣️

👮 Working Together for Safer Roads 🚓

Did you know that East Anglian DriveAbility works in partnership with Essex Police and Lincolnshire Police forces to support road safety?

Following some driving incidents, there might be concerns about whether a driver can continue to drive safely. In these situations, individuals might be referred to us for an independent driving assessment.

Our specialist assessors provide an objective evaluation of a person's driving ability, taking into account factors such as medical conditions, cognitive function and physical ability. The assessment is designed to identify strengths, explore any challenges and, where appropriate, make recommendations that support safe driving.

Our role is not to judge or enforce—it's to provide expert, evidence-based assessments that help individuals, families and referring organisations make informed decisions, always with road safety at the forefront.

By working alongside police services, healthcare professionals and other referral partners, we're proud to play our part in helping keep our roads safer for everyone.

If you'd like to learn more about our driving assessments or the services we provide, please get in touch.

🚦August is National Road Victim Month, a time to reflect on the importance of road safety and the role we all play in keeping our roads safe.

At East Anglian DriveAbility, we're passionate about helping people maintain their independence while ensuring they can drive safely and confidently. Through specialist driving assessments, advice on vehicle adaptations, and support for drivers with medical conditions or disabilities, we help people make informed decisions about their mobility.

Throughout August, we'll be sharing more about the work we do to improve road safety. We believe that safe driving isn't just about getting from A to B—it's about protecting yourself, your passengers and everyone else on the road.

It's always a pleasure to receive such wonderful feedback from the people we support. 💙

"Hello Wonderful staff at East Anglian Driveability,
I just wanted to send lots of thanks to all the members of staff that were involved with my driving assessment.
I was assessed by the lovely and highly experienced Karen and Alfie. All went well for me regarding the cognitive tests and the wonderful opportunity to drive an automatic vehicle, using for me the much required control steering spinner.
Lots of decent advice was provided in assisting me in contacting DVLA to upgrade my licence requirements and looking for future vehicles through Motability cars.
Wishing you all the very best and many thanks again for the excellent service."

A huge thank you to our client for taking the time to share their experience following their driving assessment with East Anglian DriveAbility.

We're so pleased to hear that Karen and Alfie helped make the assessment a positive and supportive experience.

Helping people maintain or regain their independence through safe driving is at the heart of what we do, and comments like these mean so much to our team.

Thank you for trusting East Anglian DriveAbility, and for your kind words. Wishing you many safe and happy miles ahead! 🚗✨

🌟Client Feedback🌟

There's nothing more rewarding than knowing we've helped someone regain their confidence and peace of mind. 💙

Here's what one of our clients had to say after their driving assessment:

'I came for an assessment today and I have to say I was really nervous of what to expect as I have never done this before. I wanted to feedback that both Nicky and Jo were absolutely amazing. They put me at ease from the moment I arrived, explained everything so clearly and made the whole process a very different experience to what I was expecting. Having a driving assessment was a big fear of mine and moving forward, this is never going to be a concern again thanks to this experience!'

Helping people feel reassured, supported and confident about their future mobility is at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for trusting East Anglian DriveAbility with your journey. 🚗💙
