As part of Learning Disability Week 2026 and this year's theme, , we'd like to shine a spotlight on Opening Doors.

Opening Doors is a user-led charity run by and for adults with learning disabilities in Norfolk. Their work helps people build confidence, have their voices heard, make informed decisions, and live more independent lives. They also work with organisations to improve accessibility, inclusion and co-production.

Last November, we had the opportunity to take part in one of their Easy Read training courses. The training provided valuable insights into making information more accessible and highlighted the importance of communicating in ways that everyone can understand.

We are proud to have worked alongside Opening Doors and to continue learning how we can make our services and communications more inclusive.

Learning Disability Week 2026 | 15–21 June

This week, we are proud to support Learning Disability Week and this year's theme, "Do You See Me?"

The campaign, led by Mencap, is about ensuring that people with a learning disability are seen, heard and valued in all aspects of life.

At Breckland Alliance, we recognise the strengths, talents and contributions of people with learning disabilities and remain committed to creating inclusive environments where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

This week, let's celebrate achievements, challenge barriers, and help build a society where everyone feels valued, respected and included.

A little bit late to post but we were absolutely delighted to attend the April Lets talk Wellbeing event at Watton Medical Practice a couple of weeks ago.
It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with so many passionate people and community organisations, share ideas, and be surrounded by such a positive atmosphere.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such a brilliant event — we’re grateful to have been part of it and are already looking forward to the next one!

Proud to have supported the ELSA Study session at the Polish School in Thetford, yesterday.
A very successful event with 24 children participating and strong community engagement throughout. Congratulations to the Agile Research Delivery Team and all of Involve Razem CIC for making it such a success ❤️

We enjoyed meeting families and supporting health awareness on the day.
