Sometimes the mind just needs a little escape. 🌊☀️

Before you scroll past, pause for a moment.

Take one slower breath in… and out.

And as you read this, don’t just read the words — imagine them.

Imagine the sun beginning to set over the sea, turning the water gold as tiny waves roll gently against the shore.

You can smell warm salt air mixed with flowers and fresh food drifting from little tavernas nearby.

The evening feels soft and slow.

In… and out.

In… and out.

You wander through quiet whitewashed streets, the stone pathways still warm from the heat of the day.

Blue doors. Tiny cafés. Bougainvillea spilling from balconies overhead.

Somewhere nearby, glasses clink softly and gentle music drifts through the evening air.

There’s nowhere you need to rush to.

Nowhere you need to be except here.

You walk slowly along the harbour as the sky turns peach, gold and dusky pink, watching the reflections dance across the water and the little boats rock gently with the tide.

And then you notice something unexpected ~ a swan drifting quietly across the sea as if it belongs there completely.

Calm. Unhurried. Peaceful.

Somehow it makes the whole moment feel even softer.

And gradually, without even trying, something inside you softens too.

Your shoulders loosen.

Your jaw unclenches.

Your breathing becomes slower and deeper.

The constant mental noise fades into the background for a little while.

For these few moments, nothing is needed from you.

You don’t need to solve everything tonight.

You don’t need to carry every thought.

You can simply pause.

Simply breathe.

Simply let yourself rest.

This is one of the reasons guided relaxation and hypnotherapy can feel so calming for the nervous system.

The mind responds deeply to imagination, rhythm and sensory imagery. Sometimes even mentally stepping away from stress for a few moments can help the body and mind reset.

Not escaping reality forever… just giving yourself a little holiday from carrying everything for a while. 💙

"Do one act of kindness each day of the year, and change 365 lives."

I used to believe that to truly make a difference in this world, I needed to pull off massive, monumental gestures. I thought that if I couldn't fix a huge problem all at once, my small contributions didn't really matter. But I’ve finally come to understand that the world isn’t shifted by giant leaps; it’s beautifully transformed by a million tiny, intentional moments. A simple smile, an unexpected message checking in, or holding the door for a stranger can completely alter someone’s entire day. These little moments leave a trail of soft pink and yellow glows in their wake, reminding people that they are seen. You don't need a grand platform to be a force for good. When you commit to offering just a tiny spark of warmth every single day, you create a beautiful ripple effect that reaches far beyond what your eyes will ever see.

Who in your life is currently looking to bring a little more light into the world, and could use this gentle inspiration to start creating their own ripple effect today? 💛✨

This week I’ve learned of the passing of two people who touched my life, both taken by such cruel illnesses, and it has really stayed with me.

Grief has a way of stopping us in our tracks and reminding us how fragile and precious life truly is. Behind every loss is a family trying to navigate unimaginable heartbreak, memories that suddenly become treasures, and love that never really leaves.

Sometimes there are no perfect words. Just sadness, compassion, reflection and the quiet reminder to hold our people close while we can.

Thinking of everyone carrying loss, grief or worry right now ❤️

I think a lot of us are more overwhelmed than we admit 🤍

We keep going though, don’t we?

Work.
Family.
Messages.
Appointments.
Trying to keep everyone happy.
Trying not to let anyone down.

And underneath all of that, a lot of us are quietly carrying far too much in our own heads…

Overthinking.
Pressure.
Worry.
Second guessing ourselves.
Replaying conversations.
Wondering if we’ve upset someone.
Saying yes when we’re already exhausted.

It’s tiring caring so much all the time 🌅

I think many of us have become so used to pushing through that we hardly notice how much stress we’re holding in our bodies until one day we suddenly feel completely drained by it all.

Not because we’re weak.
Just because we’ve been carrying too much for too long.

And honestly, sometimes people don’t need more pressure or more advice.

Sometimes we just need understanding.
A bit of space to breathe.
Someone to talk to.
A chance to properly switch off for a while 🌿

I think that’s why feeling heard can be so powerful.

Something softens in people when they realise they don’t have to hold everything on their own 🤍

You don’t have to keep pushing through on your own…

Thanks so much for all the love, comments and messages yesterday 🤍 It really shows just how many of us resonate with these experiences, even when we’ve spent years thinking we were alone in them.

Mental Health Awareness Week feels like an important reminder that struggles don’t always look obvious from the outside. So many people are quietly battling overwhelm, anxiety, burnout, ADHD, self-doubt or simply trying to hold everything together while appearing “fine”.

The more we speak openly, the more we create space for understanding, compassion and connection — and maybe help someone else feel a little less alone too.

Thank you for making this such a supportive and honest space 🤍

And if you are struggling silently, please know my door is always open 🌅

A slightly more personal post from me this Mental Health Awareness Week 🤍

For years, I genuinely believed I was the problem.

Too sensitive.
Too emotional.
Too distracted.
Too much.

I could support everyone else, hold everything together, work hard, care deeply… yet behind the scenes my mind often felt exhausting to live in.

Constant thinking.
Constant analysing.
Feeling everything deeply.
Overthinking conversations for hours afterwards.
Taking things personally even when I tried not to.
Feeling hurt or rejected so intensely it could completely knock me emotionally.
Feeling emotions so strongly sometimes it was hard to regulate them internally, even when I looked calm on the outside.

I spent years blaming myself for that.

I thought I needed to “toughen up.”
Be less emotional.
Stop overreacting.
Stop caring so much.

But recently being diagnosed with ADHD has made me realise there was always more going on beneath the surface than people could see.

Because I coped.
Because I masked.
Because I achieved things.
Because I kept going.

There’s relief in finally understanding yourself differently… but also sadness for the younger version of you who spent years believing she was lazy, dramatic, weak or somehow failing at life when actually she was struggling quietly the whole time.

Mental health struggles don’t always look obvious.

Sometimes they look like:
- people pleasing
- perfectionism
- over-achieving
- burnout
- anxiety
- emotional exhaustion
- struggling to switch off
- constantly overthinking
- feeling everything deeply while pretending you’re fine

It feels hard being this vulnerable publicly as a therapist, but I also know how many people silently struggle behind closed doors while looking “fine” on the outside.

So please speak out if you’re struggling silently. Your comment, honesty or vulnerability might genuinely make somebody else feel less alone — and surely that’s worth it 🤍

Imagine if house plants could talk 🪴

One would say:
“I need water.” 💦

Another:
“Can someone move me away from this radiator?” 🥵

And another:
“I think I’ve outgrown this pot.” 🌳

Humans don’t really do that though.

We say “I’m fine” while quietly struggling with:
🤍 overthinking
🤍 poor sleep
🤍 feeling overwhelmed by small things
🤍 never properly switching off
🤍 feeling constantly “on alert”
🤍 feeling exhausted but carrying on anyway

I see so many people who look like they’re coping brilliantly on the outside…

…but inside they’re tired.

Not weak.
Not failing.
Just mentally overloaded for too long.

Sometimes people simply need a space where they can exhale for a while.

That’s often where change begins 🌿

If this resonates with you, you’re always welcome to message me for a gentle, no-pressure chat about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy 🤍
