Ever wondered why two sets of acrylic nails can use the exact same products and beads… but end up looking completely different? 🤔
In this photo I created two acrylic nails using:• The same size tip• The same acrylic system• The same number and size of beads
But the results are very different.
One nail is bulkier with thicker side walls, while the other has a balanced structure, slimmer side walls and a refined apex.
The difference isn’t the product…✨ It’s the technique.
A lot of nail techs think they need better acrylic, a different brush, or a new brand to get that sleek professional finish. But most of the time it comes down to placement, control and understanding structure.
Once you understand:• Where your product should sit• How to build the apex correctly• How to keep side walls slim
Everything becomes easier — filing is quicker, the nails look more refined, and your sets instantly level up.
If you’re a nail tech who struggles with bulky acrylic, over-filing, or getting that clean structured look, you’re definitely not alone. These are some of the most common issues I see when teaching.
Education and technique practice make all the difference 💅
Drop a ❤️ if you can spot the difference between the two nails, or comment “STRUCTURE” if improving your acrylic application is something you’re working on this year.
