🎄✨ Right, I think we need to talk Christmas markets! ✨🎄
I know it’s only October, but honestly… they’ll be here before we know it! 😂
And there’s something I absolutely love about a Christmas market break. Wandering around with a hot chocolate (or something a little stronger 😉), twinkly lights everywhere, Christmas music playing, the smell of cinnamon and all those gorgeous festive food stalls…
It just feels properly Christmassy. ❤️
Whether you fancy a couple of nights away with your other half, a girls’ trip, a family break or a weekend away with friends, there are so many lovely options.
And it doesn’t have to be ridiculously expensive either — there are some great-value packages around if you know where to look.
Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Cologne, Bruges… or perhaps somewhere a little different this year?

Did you know that I spent a year living on the beautiful island of Zanzibar? Known as the spice island, this little gem of an island sits off the east coast of Africa and belongs to Tanzania. From May 2027 BA will be flying non stop via Kilimanjaro and there are options flying via middle east, Kenya and Ethiopia. It is a great destination in itself with beautiful beaches, historic Stone town (the birth place of Freddie Mercury) with a maze of alleys, spice markets and great food, Jozani Forest home to red colobus monkeys also an easy half day tour to Prison Island. The people are warm and friendly, the hotels range from budget to 5 star and it is easy to get around. It is also a great place for some r n r after a safari if you fancy some time in Tanzanian Selous, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire NP or Serengetti NP or after a Kenyan safari in Masai Mara or Amboseli. One of my greatest memories is the look on my Dad's face when I surprised my visiting parents face with a trip to Arusha and a safari something I knew my Dad always wanted to do but Mum was always too nervous to agree to. I lived up north in Nungwi, stunning beaches and a more lively area, there are also amazing beaches down the east coast. A must is a day trip to Mnemba Atoll for great snorkelling and diving, a trip I did at least twice a week and never got tired of spotting dolphins, turtles and my first ever frog fish find! If this is somewhere you would like to visit get in touch for recommendations, it is a place like nowhere else I have been to.

As an avid yogi and yoga teacher for the past 10 years I have been on a few retreats and each time I have come home having made great connections, learnt a little or a lot about myself and been recharged and reconnected. In this day and age it's no longer just about where you go – it's about how you want to feel when you come home.
For some, that means sunrise yoga overlooking the ocean. For others, it's spa treatments, healthy cuisine, nature walks, meditation, digital detoxes or simply escaping the demands of everyday life and taking time to slow down.
Wellness travel has grown enormously in recent years, and it's easy to see why. In a world that often feels busy and constantly connected, many people are choosing holidays that help them rest, recharge and reconnect with themselves and the people they love.

Short on annual leave doesn’t mean you have to wait for a two-week holiday to properly switch off.

Sometimes four days is enough to give you that feeling of being somewhere completely different — but the destination you choose really matters.

When you’ve only got a long weekend, I’m always looking at how much of that time you’ll actually get to enjoy. There’s no point spending most of your first and last day travelling if there’s another option that gives you more time to explore, relax and settle into the holiday.

For me, the best short breaks are the ones that feel easy. Good flight times, a destination that suits how you like to travel, and enough time to actually enjoy being there rather than rushing from one thing to the next.

That’s where I can help. When I’m planning a short break for a client, I look beyond simply finding somewhere they’d like to visit. I consider flight times, how they want to spend their days, the kind of atmosphere they’re looking for and what will make the trip feel worthwhile from the moment they leave home.

Because when you’ve only got four days, every day counts.

Did you know that I used to live in St Lucia? I was working as water sports manager at Anse Chastenet/Jade Mountain hotels in the south of the island overlooking the amazing Pitons. What I love about this island is that it is as beautiful underwater as it is above. An island of great diversity offering lush rainforests, smouldering volcano, picture postcard beaches, friendly vibrant poeple and they know how to cook, creole style and party like its Rio de Janeiro. If you have ever fancied the Caribbean and never been, this island has something for everyone if you want to be adventuring every day or laying around on a soft beach with turquois water lapping at your feet. They say Vietnam is like Thailand was 20 years ago. It is full of amazing people, food and stunning scenery from the vibrant modern city of Ho Chi Minh, the bustling waterways of Mekong Delta in the south to beautiful Hoi An full of lanterns and Da Nang in the centre and the impactful, rocky castes of the north in Ha Long Bay or Ninh Binh, not forgetting fascinating Hanoi with Ho Chi Minhs mausoleum. Whichever part is for you it is a country pact with history and life. If this takes your fancy let me know, I have lots of top tips from my honeymoon 3 years ago.
