I’m thoroughly enjoying my time in India and have learned so much over the past few weeks, but I’m also looking forward to returning home and stepping back onto the mat with you all.

This journey has given me time to practise, reflect, learn and reconnect with some of the deeper roots of yoga, and I’m excited to bring some of that inspiration back into my classes.

Classes at Breathe Yoga and Wellness resume from 6th July, and I can’t wait to welcome familiar faces and meet new ones.

Whether you’re a regular student or have been thinking about joining us for the first time, you’ll be very welcome.

I’m delighted to be offering these 6-week Gentle Yoga courses at the the lovely Collaton St Mary Parish Rooms this summer. There is plenty of parking and the Parish hall is in a beautiful location.

For those who don’t know me, my name is Tina and I run Breathe Yoga and Wellness in Torquay. I’ll be covering Kay’s classes over the summer while she takes some time away from teaching, and I’m very much looking forward to getting to know her lovely yoga community.

Whether you’re completely new to yoga or have been practising for years, you’ll be warmly welcomed. If you have any friends or family who might be interested, please feel free to share this post 😊🙏🏻

These gentle, accessible classes offer an opportunity to move, breathe and reconnect through mindful movement, simple breathing practices and guided relaxation with Himalayan sound bowls.
There is no need to be flexible, fit or experienced. Come exactly as you are.

The courses begin on 7th and 8th July, with both morning and evening options available. We already have a lovely group forming - 11 in the morning and 7 in the evening - so there are still spaces available.

Out for a lovely warm walk in the rain this morning, I couldn’t resist sharing this dramatic view.

The statue is Adiyogi, meaning “The First Yogi”, and stands at the edge of Isha Yoga Center at the foot of the Velliangiri Mountains in southern India.

Adiyogi is regarded as the source of the yogic sciences and a symbol of the untapped potential within every human being.

This is also the site of one of India’s largest Mahashivratri celebrations, when hundreds of thousands of people gather through the night for meditation, music and spiritual practices.

For now, though, it’s simply a beautiful statue, mountains, monsoon clouds, warm rain, and a # # peaceful morning walk. 🙏

Ekadashi 🌙

Today is Ekadashi, a yogic fasting day observed twice each lunar month, traditionally on the 11th day after the new moon and full moon. It is seen as an opportunity to give the digestive system a rest and bring a little more awareness to our habits and routines.

I decided to join in here at the Isha Ashram and, to my surprise, have found it much easier than I expected!

You’ll notice the power cuts halfway through this video. The monsoon season has just begun in South India, bringing dramatic thunderstorms and much-needed rain. The storms are beautiful, and life simply carries on around them.

One of the things I’ve loved most is seeing so many people walking barefoot. There’s something wonderfully childlike about splashing through puddles and feeling a little mud between your toes. A simple reminder of our connection with the earth and the joy that can be found in the simplest things.

Supporting Kay's Yoga Community in Collaton St Mary and welcoming new students also.

There are two 6 week courses starting on Tuesday 7th July at 7pm and Wednesday 8th July at 10am

From July I’ll be supporting Kay’s yoga classes at Collaton St Mary while she takes some time to focus on rest and healing. Some of you may already know me, as some of Kay’s lovely students have joined me for classes recently. For those I haven’t met yet, my name is Tina and I run Breathe Yoga and Wellness in Torquay. My approach to yoga is gentle, welcoming and accessible. Classes are not about achieving perfect postures or pushing the body, but about reconnecting with yourself through mindful movement, breath awareness, relaxation and creating a little space from the busyness of life.

I know many of you have built a wonderful connection with Kay over many years and my intention is simply to help provide continuity and support while she takes this time for herself. I’m looking forward to practising with you and meeting you soon.

If you pay for the course and cannot make a class one week you are welcome to attend an extra class the following week or attend on another day that week - just message me and we can arrange it. If you don't want to pay for the course but would like to come and try a class for £12.00 or pay as you go for £12 a class, let me know.
