What’s your relationship with water? With sound? With the smell of salt water on the coast?

Our Body & Voice sessions for women offer a different way of experiencing the coastal landscape… through movement, voice, breath and the living intelligence of the sensory body.

Together, we slow down and simply notice how your animal body responds to ocean, wind, rock, space and sound.

Our next session is on Monday 1st June led by Leela Fisk.

Morning practice:
Harberton Parish Hall

Afternoon outdoor exploration:
Thurlestone coastline

The coast is one of my greatest teachers.

Before leading movement sessions, I often come to the ocean to reconnect with myself as a sensory, feeling, breathing body…

I come here for resource, for nourishment, to be taught the great inhale and exhale by the ocean.

I come here for the reminder to my body that I’m a fluid being, and I’m a being of depth.

I come here to process life.

With the support of the coast, I come home to myself.

I'm bringing this inspiration into the 'Body & Voice: Women's Coastal Explorations' series...

These gatherings invite women into movement, voice, nature, breath and embodied presence through indoor studio practice and outdoor explorations along the coastline.

What will the coast teach you?

Warmly invited to join us for the next session on Monday 1 June, 10:00am - 3:30pm - at Harberton Parish Hall in the morning followed by Thurlestone coastline in the afternoon.

A space for women of colour to reconnect with voice, body and creative expression in relationship with land, sea and one another…

As part of our Body & Voice series, we’re offering the first two sessions as dedicated spaces for women of colour, led by Shashi Salma Darling.

You’ll be invited to explore the natural range of your voice and the ways your body moves and responds in the living landscape 🌊

This is a space that invites us into aliveness…
to feel our wholeness,
to express ourselves freely,
and to experience connection with community and the wider web of life.

Absolutely no experience needed.

The Women of Colour sessions:

👉 Monday 27 April · 10:00am – 12:00pm
Studio 6, Dartington Trust

👉 Monday 11 May · 10:00am – 3:30pm
Strete Village Hall (morning)
Strete & Forest Cove coastline (afternoon)

Sliding scale pricing and full bursaries available.

These sessions are designed to support a shared sense of experience, and to offer a space that may feel more easeful and supportive for those who don’t always feel centred in predominantly white environments.

The wider series is open to all women.

Do you remember the version of you who loved to dance? Then life got in the way…

Because let’s face it, you’re a busy woman with a lot on your plate.

When did everyone else’s needs start coming first… and yours slip to the bottom of the list?

But what we often forget is that movement is an incredible resource that supports us in the rest of our life…

It helps us feel more grounded and more connected to ourselves.

It helps us process emotions, release stress and come back into our bodies.

It brings greater sense of inner resilience, so we’re able to meet all the curveballs life throws at us.

And it reminds us that our well-being, our needs, our body matter too.

Our Movement for Well-Being online group is for women exactly like you.

A gentle, supportive online space led by Leela Fisk, where you can say “yes” to yourself and rediscover the joy and support of dance.

Fortnightly sessions starting Wednesday 22 April.
