Wow, what a weekend that was!

Huge well done to everyone who ran, walked, limped, crawled. I hope most of you are walking again. We've loved supporting your journey.

In particular the 100 miles (104 to be more precise) had us on the edge of our seats, as it came down to the wire between 100 mile first timer Ben Diggins, whose family were out all night cheering him on and Bradley Parsons. Ben finished just two minutes ahead of Bradley in 25 hours and 46 minutes.

Ben Laurence-King, Paul Trace and Paco Bernard came in equal first in the mens marathon in 5 hours 33, while Jenny Lailey was first woman home in 6.06.

And in the Classic Quarter (44 miles- but some would say a little bit longer!), Zak Parker stormed the fort to arrive in 8 hours 21, ahead of first woman and second overall Jemma Davies in 8 hours 47. We waited for Lucy Atkinson and Dan Bryan to finish in the dark and rain. But they came in smiling after 14 hours. More to come on Lucy's story.

Here are the results.

We'll send links to photos and a proper wrap up email tomorrow.

What a day they've chosen to take on the South Hams Way 100 miler...perhaps the toughest 100 mile ultra in the South West. They started with an estuary crossing on the Erme and are now heading towards CP2 in East Portlemouth via the Salcombe ferry. You can follow their progress here

🎏Salmon Run is a recognition of all our interrelationship with and care for the river, with her species and with our future.

It is a festival, a performance, a run AND a ritual involving lots of different skills, energies and partnerships across the river catchment. And this year’s Salmon Run 2026 was the biggest yet!

Following the event day, we’ll be organising transport for a day trip to plant trees along the river over Winter. River trees are vital for creating river habitat and cooling the warming waters of the Exe. We’d love you to join us & our partners Westcountry River Trust. Let us know if you would be interested in doing this 🌳

If you are curious about what happened on the day or in the places you weren’t at, give us a follow as we’ll continue sharing highlights and snippets from behind the scenes of our epic collective Salmon Run journey. We invite you to share yours in the comments too - thank you all so much! 🐟

In Exmouth we held two opening ceremonies, bringing the Salmon talisman out of the sea.

58 small cloth fish for the Ultra runners at 8am, and Samantha the baton for the Relay at 9am were presided over by the inimitable Tony Lidington - complete with fishnets, ho**er and sparking coat.

At our Exmouth Parkrun pop-up, members of Exmouth Light Orchestra played to the 5km runners under the skillful musical direction of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Community musician Emma Welton.

Local running groups Exmouth Running Belles and Exmouth Harriers, and local councillor Louise Venables provided teams for the first two sections, and Exmouth mayor Graham Deasy gave out the medals!

Love this. And not a keyboard warrior in sight back then.

We have funding for the Salmon Run on September 19th to add to our crew. If anyone fancies a bit of the action, this is a genuinely uplifting day out as the marshals and crew are very much part of proceedings and all the villages are involved. We can pay £75. We need folk for feed stations in Thorverton, Tiverton and Bampford, as well as at Dulverton. Let me know if you're interested. [email protected]
