Congratulations to our CEO Andy Evans, who has been awarded the Fellowship ad hominem by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

The College recognised Andy’s work leading the charity, which has grown from a small team of three to more than 50 staff during his tenure. Together we deliver outreach dental services for thousands of people facing homelessness and harm across the UK, alongside our overseas volunteering programmes and the BrightBites oral health scheme.

Andy travelled to Edinburgh last week to receive his award from Dean of The Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Grant McIntyre, after a speech highlighting his achievements from Vice Dean (Dental) Richard Cure.

Very best of luck to all the riders setting off on the Straumann Charity Bike Ride this week.

They will pedal 500 miles over 5 days through Switzerland, France and Germany - and it’s going to be steep! The route features high mountain climbs through the Vosges, fast descents and long days in the saddle.

Money raised will help support Dentaid’s work providing dental care and treatment for vulnerable women across the UK, including those facing domestic violence and abuse.

It's September, which means we're back to school with BrightBites! 🦷

Our free oral health education programme brings fun, interactive sessions into schools, nurseries and community groups, teaching children about brushing their teeth, healthy eating and why visiting the dentist is important.

A huge thank you to Alan Mak MP for coming to visit our mobile dental clinic in Havant and taking the time to speak to our team about our work supporting people experiencing health inequalities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

As part of our scheme with NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, our mobile dental units visit family hubs, community centres, public buildings and places of worship to deliver care to groups who have not seen a dentist in the last two years and face additional challenges to accessing care.

For many dental professionals sharing their skills overseas is a long-held ambition. If you’d like to be part of our volunteering programmes in Uganda, Cambodia or Malawi in 2028 now’s the time to apply.

You’ll be working alongside local dental professionals, helping them reach new and remote communities and deliver outreach programmes.

We welcome applications from dentists, dental nurses, therapists and hygienists.

On Friday we held a brand-new clinic at Bethany City Church in Sunderland bringing free dental care to people experiencing homelessness in the local area.

This clinic was delivered by our North East hub which only launched back in June but is already making a real difference in the community!

Huge thanks to our amazing volunteer dentist Rachel and dental nurse Ebony, who gave up their time to help deliver care. We couldn't do this without you! 💙
