☀️ Hot conditions can affect medicines and how well they work.

🤔 It’s easy to forget that medicines left in the heat – in cars, bags, or on sunny windowsills – might not work properly when you need them.

💊 If you are taking long-term medication, it is important to double check how your medication reacts with the intense heat and follow these tips to avoid any issues.

📖 Check your Patient Information Leaflets - some medicines have increased sun sensitivity side-effects making your skin more likely to burn in sunlight (like the antibiotic Doxycycline for example)

📣 Meningitis B vaccination update:

💉NHS vaccination for select groups of young people from this Summer.
🌟 Vaccination available privately at Tynewydd Pharmacy if you fall outside these defined groups.

Parent or carer of someone born between 01/09/2007 - 31/08/2008? Or are you under 25 but starting higher education or residential further education for the first time this autumn? ⬇️

From late July for a limited time the MenB vaccination will be available.

What to know:
✅ Two doses are essential for best protection
✅The second dose is given at least 28 days after the first
✅ Invite letters will be sent after 6 July for 17-18 year olds.
✅ Those born after 31/12/2001 (turning 25 after 31/12/2026) and starting higher education or residential further education for the first time from Autumn 2026, will not receive a letter but should contact their health board after 20 July.

Encourage your child to get protected before they start their next chapter 🛡️

🚝 Gareth is in London for two days (Wednesday and Thursday) as part of his role at the Royal College of .

We have disabled online booking for Gareth for these days as private service consultation types will not be available face to face.

We have prescribers that can see you for NHS common ailments, sore throat, ear conditions, UTI, skin conditions, contraception etc
